Mud,

Please do not overlook the "other" twelves, the XB12Ss and the TT.

Both these bikes have a longer wheel base, slightly more relaxed fork angle, and larger gas tank than the Classic XB 12S.

I believe that that these changes make the bike nicer to ride for most riders: a bit more stable, and smoother, with longer range, without sacrificing the great handling that Buell is known for.

It would definitely be a good idea to test ride these before making any decision.

Having had a nine and a twelve, I much prefer the torque of the twelve, especially with the Drummer muffler which improves low end torque, and makes the bike more ridable, and better sounding as well.

I don't know if the dealer(Edison N.J.)is still under the same management as when I test rode there. I think there is some sort of soap opera shitt going on with them and another dealership. Give them a call and see if they still let you testride. I have two XB9R's and one XB12R. The next one I buy will be a 9. They spin up faster. Coming from an in-line 4 you may want that spin-up to be a little on the quick side. Liberty in Rahway, N.J. has a great sales staff and they're not too far from Philly. I don't however know if they testride.

Call Liberty.

They are a sponsor here and as good a Buell dealer as you can find without crossing and ocean.
