I have between 200-290$ dollars to spend on a perforated leather Jacket. I am down to one of these one is a tourmaster and the other is a teknic. I kind of like the teknic a little more because the entire jacket is perforated. I would like to ask you for your opinions to help me decide between which one is better in reguards to ,quality durability, your won experiences, Thanks! Teknic  Tourmaster  | ||

They're both quality brands. Your best bet is to try them on and pick the one that fits better. The more comfortable you are, the more you can concentrate on riding (and less on how the jacket is scratchy here or squeezing you there) | ||

not one of your suggestions, but i got my Frank Thomas on sale for $200. It's perforated in the right spots + armor. Removable inner liner asa well. A steal I thought. | ||

+1 on Joe Rocket jackets I ended up with a Frank Thomas jacket that perforated on the entire front and back plus the inner half of the sleeves. Also has a liner for the chilly days but thats all the liners good for. But the jacket kept my cool on the move but stuck in traffic you warm up pretty good. I also got my jacket for $200 on sale, the Jacket had a $399.99 price tag on it. | ||

i just picked up the buell turbulent jacket, thing fits great! and when i tried it on the bike friday in the 15 degree/1 degree with wind chill it was definatly perforated, lol | ||

I'd recommend almost anything by Vanson, but that is getting outside of your price range unless you can find a deal (they are out there). If not Vanson, check out this link. All black is also HOT and not in a good way. Living in the south I have realized this. I went from an all black helmet to a silver and black helmet and now to a white and silver one. I also bought a mesh jacket that is mostly grey/silver with some black. I'm thinking of replacing it with a perf leather jacket but if I do I'll get a light colored one preferably white. This is what I want.  But I'm not ready to shell out $390 yet. | ||

The only thing I don't like about white is keeping it clean...other than that, it makes for great summer gear. My stuff is all black, and I've never had a problem riding in summer, even when the temps reach ~100 and humid. I've found the key is good ventilation (and a naked bike). My Vanson jacket has zippered vents in each elbow and armpit. Plus, it has a fully perforated front which incorporates a zippered nylon 'curtain' that can be zipped or unzipped to varying levels of ventilation. There system works so well, as long as I'm moving, I've never overheated. My matching leather pants are also perforated FWIW. | ||

I have a full textile Teknic suit, and a full leather Teknic suit. Both of them seem very high quality, and are very comfortable. You do want to try them on though, I think they run a bit 'tight'. | ||

I like the tourmaster for what it is. I paid about 400 for a 2 piece suit. I have just lost lbs. and now have a tecknic 1pc suit.  | ||

Do they not have motorcycle gear stores in Japan? I'm not busting your chops, but why not head to couple gear stores and try stuff on. We can all tell you what works well for us, but we have no idea how you are built, nor do we know what you consider comfortable. If you stick with any of major name branded gear, you should have no issues with build quality or durability. So get out there and try on some coats..... | ||

The biggest selection of items is a ducati dealership 1.5 hrs away, and HD 1.5 the other direction..no thanks. Ducati has all kushtani gear very expensive. Also anything you see in America goes for about 30% more at a minimum here. Since trying them on is not an option for me right now unfortunately. I was mostly looking for personal experiences with either item or brand. Anyways thanks for the inputs. | ||

My mom used to work in a department store. She used to laugh at the Japanese guys who would buy anything made of leather like it was going out of style. Belts, wallets, coin holders, shoes, whatever. I'm sure the same is true with motorcycle gear. Cows are expensive. |
