Sorry the pictures came out crappy. But you can still see where my ignition timing is at. Very slowly and many times I used ECM spy to measure it. This is exactly where it goes rolls over.

Do you guys think it is too advanced?

The bike will ping a little on acceleration it sits in traffic or gets really really hot. Until it gets up to speed a little or cools down some.If it is too advanced and I readjust it will it cause the bike to run a little slugish?

Plugs never looked like they were running lean on change.

Thank guys

#1, that IS front cylinder TDC on the correct stroke, right? It DOES matter if the engine is approaching TDC for the front cylinder on overlap versus TDC spark. The S/M will explain which one is used for timing.

It is WAY wicked super ultra nasty advanced.
Straight up will smooth out the powerband, and provide way better driveablility. This timing mark also controls fuel injector timing, and that's where the driveability issues will stem from.

I won't get into the pro's and con's of advancing ignition timing. Suffice it to say that on this bike, straight up, dead centered, is best.}

Thanks!!

Hummm,

I dont remember, I guess I would have to look at the front cylinder as I rotate the engine some how.

I wasnt to say it was going from green to ren on the ECM Spy. Damn it I should of wrote it down.

Anyone know what size bit do I drill out the rivets with and the tap size I will need?

I have been riding in the freezing cold this winter. Now its warming up and I am going to ride alot more. However I want to do this tonight hopefully

Thanks again.

Thanks

With your bike up on a rear stand, key on and in neutral. You can turn the rear wheel slowly, and listen for when the fuel injection fires. WHen it fires, the mark should be straight up. Doing it this way takes patients. But is solved my pining.

I got ti figured out now I am pretty sure of it. That is actually my rear cylinder. Whan my front comes up it is dead on center of the window. It is my rear that is advanced.

I am hopeing that is some what normal.
