They do run cooler.
6000k is the kelvin rating which is white.
They start up slow at first and after warming you get a quick response from them.
They start up slow because they draw a lot of current on start up but drop back to about a third of a conventional bulb when running.
They are better than the late model car lights for vision and are only let down in the distance vision by the relatively low quality reflector.
I will be upgrading the reflector/light in the near future in the search for better kangaroo spotting ability. |

My HID is on the way. It should be here tomorrow or saturday. I ordered from CQ lights. They comes with a slim ballast w/ seperate igniter. I will post up after installation. The best part $89.99 shipped. |

I also vote 4300.
I've heard a few people say the slim ballasts fail prematurely. Probably just a case of the ultra cheap e-bay ones though. |

Haven't had a problem with these yet.
I used this install.
But YMMV obviously.
That kit worked great for me and produces the whitest light IMO you can get. And whiter light means less LEO attention.
I'll stick with my 4300k.

A couple pics I posted a while back of my finished install, with the low beam on and warmed up and over the course of about 30 seconds the high beam warming up, showing the difference in color:

Keep in mind this is all 4300k, so the light I see in front of me on a dark night is pure white, no hint of blue except for when I first turn on my high beam. I've heard it's much less strenuous on the eyes.
I've got a couple more pics of my install I could post but I'm kind of limited on what I have on my hard drive as I'm sadly thousands of miles away from my bike right now on deployment.
3 months left!

When you did the install did you leave the reflector in the lowbeam or take it out? I am gonna get the 6k temp when I get mine.

I left it in, and I definitely recommend you do the same. the lights are just TOO bright to do otherwise. Believe me, you'll want that cutoff so you're not blinding everyone.

Hello, i still didn't buy xenon lights.
Does anybody know where could i get some good 4" lamps with clear lenses for H4 bulbs?
I would rely like to install on my xb two new 4" lamps with H4 bi-xenon (high/low) kit.
It would be great if both lights would shine all the time, not one for low and one for high...

Since you are on the other side of the "lake", you may be able to find these priced a little more reasonable.

Installed mine tonight. Here is how it went.
It did not come with a relay so the power/ground were connected to the stock wiring. The only real problem was the supplied male terminal for the ground was wider then the female end on the stock ground. No problem though I just opened it up a little and electrical taped it after recrimping to be safe.
I mounted the ballast where the stock relay/electrical connector is below the ECM. I used zip ties to secure it and zip tied the relay/electrical connector to the ballast.
I put the igniter in the same area as Midknyte, but pushed it down so it was snug in the gap then zip tied it in place.
The only thing I noticed when I started it up was the light seems to bounce at idle. I dont remember if it did this before or not. I definately tightened everything down well. That is the only thing I need clarified from anyone who cares to chime in.
The light is definately brighter and crisper. The cutoff is damn near perfect like Midknyte's. Overall I am pretty happy with the ease of the install. I am by no means an electrical genius so anyone can do it. |

Wow decided to take it for a ride to see how things were.....Freaking amazing light output. The bouncing stopped once I was off idle. HIDs are well worth the money so far!! |

Yours Ccryder are quite good but i don't know how to install them to look good, and yours Newbolg are very pretty i just need to get the measures.
i also find some hi/low projector... it seems like you just need a xenon bulb and the projector already includes magnet to cut the light...

projectors will always be the better option cause they can focus your light output and you wont have any light spill.
Only problem is that projectors cost more money. If you do go with projectors, definitely go with the Bi option, you wont regret it.

you don't need 55W HIDs. The standard is 35W and there are a few people claiming 50W versions but the standard 35W are good enough and very common.
How did you get a price for those GT-520 projectors?
They look great but am I missing something...?
I don't see a price or an online store anywhere on that site.. |

I wrote them and they answered on my mail. They also said that this is a price for samples. So in a big amounts you can get them even chipper. 
And i calculated in €, they gave me a price in USD - 43$ for a projector!
I think it's a good deal, so i'll take two - because it's damn ugly now when only on lamp is on on a bike! |

I installed my HID kit last Thursday. I did both high and low beams. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!!!!!
I paid $200 for both beams with the ultra-slim ballasts, got the 6000K lights. They were on sale when I bought them.
Got them from this place and they threw in a hat with my order. Reasonably priced and very fast FREE shipping.

I laughed my ass off when I read the installation manual. I thought it was a hoot but the real reason it was so funny for me is that I deal with alot of people from Japan and their emails and phone conversions are the same way.
One guy I deal with always sends me an email with this in it. "Jim-san I have done what you ask, my results are as bellows"
I'm gonna have to scan the manual and post the instructions. Too funny. |

How is your low beam for focus Damnut?
I have rotated the bulb on mine and found the sweet spot that looks like the same pattern as the standard just a shit load brighter. |
