Author Message   Schmitty Posted on Sunday, March 02, 2008 - 06:42 pm:        I bought a Micron system for my XB9R, but it's a Uly pipe. I got a good deal on it, and I didn't want to wait for the Firebolt pipe to come in. Has anyone tried this on a Firebolt? I mounted it up and I knew the tips were turned down for the Uly, but when I looked at it they seem pretty low. It's on my race bike so I'm a bit concerned. Am I going to be dragging hard parts a lot earlier than before? Also, are the down pipes supposed to touch together on the way to the can? Or do I need to adjust my mounting?   Schmitty Posted on Sunday, March 02, 2008 - 09:34 pm:        Nobody?   Trojan Posted on Monday, March 03, 2008 - 06:42 am:        As of this month Micron have decided that they are only making one pipe for the XB, and that is the '02' or Uly design. The other '01' design has been discontinued. The only difference between this and the earlier '01' design for the other XB models is that the tail pipes are angled down by a few degrees. Performance is exactly the same on both types. The downpipes should be around 1mm apart, so you may want to fiddle with the mounting slightly. If you think that the tail pipes may drag on the ground then you could consider taking an angle grinder to them and removing a couple of inches. Also, is the micron good bang for the buck? Thanks Brian In order to get any of the right side scoop sto work with the Micron you have to cut the bottom of he scoop out and reshape it. We used some aluminium heat shield material to make a new scoop 'base' then fixed it in place with a layer of fibreglass. For the price the Micron is superb, although build quality is not as good as other full systems that cost a lot more.   Brianb Posted on Monday, March 03, 2008 - 07:20 pm:        Does that include the low profile scoops?
