I am shopping for an XB9R and would like to purchase one from a dealership however I spoke to a sales guy at http://www.wildprairiehd.com/. I thought I'd check them out since a co-worked had recently purchased a harley from them and highly recommended the dealership, as well as he said they carried Buell too. So I thought Ok, lets see what they've got, however to my disappointment I found a shop full of Harley's and 2 used Buell's setting in a corner, with the one rack of Buell gear sitting in the corner. When I asked the sales guy why they had so few Buell's he claimed it is because they sell them as soon as they get them, which may be a reasonable explanation, however I would expect them to have atleast a few brand new bikes on hand either way. He also gave me a line about how Buell is cutting back production on almost all other models and focusing strictly on the 1125r's from now on. I was kind of getting the impression that he was just blowing smoke up my ass and trying to up-sell me from a 9(that he didn't have) to a 12. So my question is: Do Buell's really sell that quickly or is this guy full of shit and coming up with excuses for not carrying them? Also, can anyone recommend a good dealership within driving distance of Minneapolis/St. Paul MN that would carry used Buell's? |

It's true that Buell rolled back production of the other models to meet the production goals of the 1125R, but that was only temporary. I would check with Andy at HD/Buell of Appleton. It's in Wisconsin, but that isn't that bad of a drive for you. They're listed in the sponsor section here on Badweb. They have several new and used Buells in stock and ready to go, including the 1125R. They also stock plenty of Buell apparel and accessories. On a side note, unless you're looking for a used XB9R, they are no longer as of the '07 model year. Right now the only 9's available are the CityX models. Schmitty |

Got Toilet Paper? Cause he's full of it. The stealership down the road from me has a full line up of '08s from xb9s to 1125r. Most HD dealer that carry Buell really don't seem to care one way of the other. Now to give them their due Buells are maybe 3% of the whole HD sales SO if you only have so much cash to invest, space to show bikes what would YOU do? There are good Buell dealer out there just check the sponsors here. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/171 43/17143.html?1204419684 |

You might need to look for a dealership that has a still new but never sold 9R in their warehouse -- I know the place I got mine from had a couple as of a few months ago. You might have to get it shipped to you, depending on how far you go. The upside is a '07 or earlier 9R will be cheaper than a normal new bike by far and usually the dealerships are ready to make the deal to move them. Good luck on your hunt! |
