Last Monday I leave Pub 44 after a good night of Poker, and my wifes Buell was GONE. While waiting for the Sherrif to come I'm looking around, and see the only bike in the parking area is a Kawi with no tag. Suspecting the perp had left a stolen one and took mine.... I let the sherrif run the VIN. Waiting, I pace the lot, and wind up near the lake, and there is wifey's bike, part in the water, fifty feet from where I had parked it. It wasn't the Geo Tracker in the space drilling it.... ANd the other bike came back registered.... After getting chest deep, and with the help of my brother and a poker freind, we got it up in the lot and standing. They dropped it on the right side, which took out the pegs, turn signal, fr brake handle and mirror while trying to reverse course to the lake. down the bank on the left side got the other peg, mirror, air scoop and clutch lever. They put a nice size dent in the exhaust can, trying to get it over a high curb, while trying to begotiate betwen a big Palm tree and a power pole.... We and the lawmen are eyeing this damage and discussing motive, when I figured it had been upright long enough to try the motor. Ignition lockswitch hosed up..... I don't have enemies, and don't ride my wifes bike often anyway. Near as we can figure- the amatuer thief tried to pry the ignition, failed and decided to trash it. A pro would have loaded it up and been gone in less time it took to trash the ignition switch.... Still own it, I can manage the parts and labor, rode it home even.... Still PIST off. |

I hate punks that pull that kind of crap. The worst part is that you will probably never find out who did it. Sorry to hear this. |

If you do find out who did it give them a good beating. I say we beat people like that to within an inch of their life. |

That's ridiculous. This kind of thief is the dumbest lowlife IMO. An eye for an eye in my book. |

Twice I've had my bike tipped over while I was working at the pub. I don't know if it was just drunk idiots trying to sit on it (I've caught some trying, funny thing is, I've never seen any of those caught doing so down at the pub again for some reason), or someone pissed that I cut them off. I now park right by the door where I can keep an eye on it. |

Did the pub have any exterior cameras? |

No, nothing fancy like that. I'm the security system. Hasn't happened in years, though. |

Instal a bike alarm but where the siren is wired in replace it with a capacitor. You will be woken up in the middle of the night by screams of agony and then roll over and go back to sleep knowing that justice has been done.....and they will not come back again. 10,000 volts seems to have that effect on some people. |

Nah, I like getting personal. Seems to have the same effect, though. I've actually heard regulars warn new people to stay away from it. "Don't touch it, that's the bouncer's bike. He gets angry." If they don't listen, some one will tell me. Then I go have a chat with whoever it is. Like I said, they usually don't come back. Not that I always chase people away, I'm more than happy to talk about Buells and bikes, etc. |
