So I am in the middle of the open airbox conversion. (Doing it myself, no kit) I have the xb12 with the race muffler and ecm so no need for the exhaust valve and the wiring associated with it. I never had the stock muffler so there is no worry of ever going back to stock. Should I just rip out the wiring and the exhaust valve cable?

If you have teh Race ECM then there is no need to keep it on the bike.

I would probably leave the cable in place only because it's much easier to remove than it is to put back, but it's your call.

Which airbox cover did you get Dobr? Or are you doing that to an existing cover as well?
