Well, I went ahead and snagged a Dark Smoke Double Bubble off of Ebay. I had been thinking of going for the Amber colored one, but decided I finnally have a black motorcycle, I want it ALL black : ).

Install wise, was fairly easy. Was a little confused at first on how the screws go into the rubber parts, but was fairly impressed on how it actually worked out. Fitment was flawless.

Wish it wasnt so cold out so I could take it for a ride and see how it is. Now I jsut need some black wheels : )

Before and after shot.

Couple more shots.

Random, be careful how you park that thing during the late afternoon. You've heard of those thing melting the instrument cluster, right? I am a... victim

I usually leave it covered when I park it at my apartment complex. Was yours a dark smoke? I know I can hardly see through this thing, not sure how much light will be able to pass through it. I have heard of peoples gauge clusters melting due to the way the light shines through it.

Just get some krylon fusion black spray paint and paint the inside of it before you get a melted dash. Like you said, you can hardly see through it anyway.

I don't think it's because the light shine THROUGH it but because of sunlight from the back, like in late afternoon conditions, reflecting off the INSIDE of the DB

I have seen pics of melted gauge clusters, so be sure to leave your gloves covering it when you park.

Nice, thinking about one of those myself.

Another cheap blackout part you need is the chin fairing (around the front of the pipe). Its available from dealers in black or else you can paint yours.

Personally I think the gold wheels look great on that bike, it goes well with the "tank" decals.

I like the idea of keeping a rag on me to throw over the gauges when Im going to leave it parked in the sun. Thanks for the heads up on that guys : ). Im starting to really dig the amber wheels on the bike now too with the black windscreen. Whats that about the chin fairing? You can get the grey part on it in black? Man I love this bike! lol

I would think that if it could melt the dash that it might possibly start the rag on fire. Just an observation.

It would take ALOT of heat to catch a rag on fire. Some plastics simply have a low melting point.

LOL seems to me you just don't want to believe that your screen will melt.
G/L with that.

Dumb question from a newbie, but what is the purpose of the cable connecting your front rotor and your throttle?

Thanks,

Anthony

that's a disc lock to deter theft and the cable is to remind the rider to remove it prior to launch...

Great bodily damage can be wrought upon the rider and bike if a disc lock is forgotten! For less than $10 it hopefully will remind you to remove the lock. Best $6.95 I ever spent.

Yup, cable is for the disklock. Reminds me to not try and pull away with it on : )

Started to ride off with disk lock on my Ninja with a girl on the back (1st date). About dropped the bike on her leg. We both stayed on but did all this in front of a crowd. My stupidity cost me a new rotor and I never got a 2nd date. Go figure...

This is what happens if you do forget.
