I started writing this thread on the sponsors page, but I don't think that is right because I don't want it right this minute, and there might be somebody else out there that has more relevant info. Its all related to a "new, metal" harness cover that supposedly allows more lock to lock steering without causing harness problems. There were several posts related to it on the Appleton HD- need it now thread. Written for Andy at Appleton HD: Hi Andy, I'm kind'a confused now. Did I screw up the harness turning left, and now it turns on the kill switch whenever I turn hard right? I know for a fact it is the power going to the kill switch that is causing my problem. Somewhere between the relay and the right bar harness pigtail is where the problem is. I don't think this is the proper place for my $.02, and I'll get around to fixing myself one of these days. If it could fix the problem by itself, I would want one NOW. Since it is so cheap, it would have to wait for another 20% off sale, when I could add some other big ticket things to make it worthwhile. BTW, did you get my email showing my new shipping address? I do have a harness problem, mine seems to be to the right. Caused a broken peg, screwed up a new belt and removed some of the black from my new belt pulley (because of the 1" bracket extensions). I do want to fix this soon. I don't have a local dealer, so I can't just go look at a new model to see what has been improved. I almost dumped the bike again, in almost exactly the same place as the 1st time. While not local, you do have two good dealers within a reasonable distance..Ray Price HD/Buell in Raleigh and Shelton's HD/Buell in Goldsboro. Stop in on Carolina Corner Carvers and introduce yourself the other other Carolina Buellers! |
