The 1125 mirrors have wiring running through them to power the integrated turn signals. Also the fairing is different, so the mirrors might not give you the same view on an XB.

At Inside Pass out here we were curious about that very thing and measured the mounting bolts. Sure enough, you could mount the 1125R mirrors to the XB fairing stay using the same bolts... but you'd have to splice in the extensions to the turn signal wiring and re-route them up and through the mirrors.

You'd have to take care that the wires running up through the fairing mount were protected from chafing against the casting.

I'm betting it would work...

...and I'm betting we see that on the 2009 model XB12R... just because it looks so cool and cleans up the lines so nicely!

Can one of the new 1125r owners give me the length of the mirror stalk (from mounting surface to start of mirror) and the overall length?

Thanks
Neil S.

Neil -

I just used a ruler

5" from fairing to mirror
1 - 1/8" on mounting bolts
Mirror starts ~ 10" from centerline of bike
mirror is ~ 6.5" x 3.1"

Photoshop.
I scaled the bikes to the same size by matching the front tire.
The proportions ought to be pretty close.

I can't help but think it'd be really easy to do. Sure cleans up the lines of the bike (thanks Glitch for the visual) - better than bar-ends to my way of thinking.

My r' mirrors are:
Stalk=5.25"
Mirror=6.25"x3.43"
Overall length=11.5"
Sure looks to be about the same dimensions in overall length.

Now where did I put those part numbers??????????????

Being that the 1125 signals are LEDs, would it need a different flasher unit (like the kind Al sells) or would it be plug & play?

Thanks Midknyte and Glitch......got a link for the speedzilla? Anyone got the part numbers and a price on the 1125r mirrors/ signals?

Just converted my S to an R front end, and now I need mirrors and signals. and a windscreen......undecided on color yet.

Glitch, now all I need to see is an all black firebolt with those mirrors and a blue windscreen......as that is what i'm thinking of doing, either smoked or blue screen??????????? I need to see it first.........hint hint............ your photoshop skills are way better then my own, as I have none.

thanks all.........

That'd be speedzilla dot com

http://www.speedzilla.com/buellxbr.shtml

Stalks on them look 2003 short though...
('04 and later XBR mirrors have longer stalks)

When I rode the 1125R it gave me the same great view of my s shoulders that my NineR did.

FYI: Lens covers are clear not orange as seen in glitch's photochop.

Lh Mirror- N0161.1AM- 58.00
Rh Mirror- N0162.1AM- 58.00

Buellerandy has a thread in the Appleton sponsor link for parts pertaining just to the 1125r. I believe they are retail minus BadWeb discount. Not sure if they are available yet.

IIRC these light are LED, so you will either need an inline resistor or a new turn signal flasher for the led lights. Otherwise your signals will probably flash real fast.

FWIW: My measurements are from my 04' Bolt.
My r' mirrors are:
Stalk=5.25"
Mirror=6.25"x3.43"
Overall length=11.5"

It was bought real late in the model year so....... I think they are the longer ones. Mike M. do you know??
