I have a small oil leak. I pulled the bottom body work and the only thing I can find is a nick on the clutch cable. If you push the cable up far as it will go, it contacts a primary bolt. So is the clutch wet or dry on these things and could this be the leak? I cleaned it up, rode around, then checked again, but there was oil on the cable and on the primary bolt so you couldn't really tell which one it was.

wet clutch. Just an O-ring between the primary cover where the clutch cable threads in. Resist the urge to over tighten as well. May need to drain the primary and install a new o-ring. Same thing happened on my race bike.

I replaced the clutch cable on my bike (Ulysses) a few months ago and did not drain the primary lube.

Know this, in servicing that end of the cable, the housing is (supposed) to be crimped to the threaded adapter. You must turn the entire cable, with the threaded insert... and do so by hand until it bottoms, then use a wrench to snug it the rest of the way. No more than 2 flats of the nut after bottomed.

CAUTION: THE THREADED ADAPTER IS VERY FRAGILE; Don't ask me how I know...
