does an XB9R have a kick stand sensor or something?
I rode my bike around town all day and when I got home I put the bike in neutral, put the kick stand down, opened the gate, remounted the bike, dropped it into 1st gear and as I went to take off the bike stalled when ever I let the clutch out, even if I twisted the throttle more and more each time. The lights would blank out and then a split second later it would die.

I pushed the bike up my drive way (33 degree angle....fun stuff lemme tell you)

When i went to put the kickstand down i noticed it already was. Is there a safety switch/sensor on there or something?

Yes. I believe they discontinued it, but I don't know what year.

I know mine doesn't have one. I ride off with my kick stand dragging way too much.

My 2003 has the kickstand safety switch.
It will stall if you try to ride with the sidestand down.
Your 2003 has one also.

FBDO - I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who's ever done that. : )

My 2005 doesn't have this I don't think. I can ride it with the stand down(not on purpose). But there is a switch on the clutch, so I'm not sure what it's for. Maybe my bike does have the stand sensor but it's broken?

Ferocity - Later XBs have an automatically retracting sidestand. I know the 06s do, sounds like the 05s as well.

If you ride with the stand down, and take a left turn, it will pop back up.

04 and later have the pop up stand.

They only used the sidestand switch in 03.
