Picked up a deluxe tank bag from a good friend, but he didn't have the rain cover. Does anyone here have one that they would be willing to part with? Let me know the price.
Thanks much
Chad

Don't bother with the rain cover. The stupid thing fills up with air while riding, thrashing around like crazy and causes a major ruckus inside the cockpit. I ripped mine off and let it fly on the Cross Bronx Expressway one night(socially and environmentally irresponsible I know). I hated that thing. You dont need it anyway, my stuff stays nice and dry in there while riding, but I would take it off if it was going to be parked in the rain for too long.

I only use mine when the bike is parked. The bag is pretty darn water proof. I rode 480 miles in a full on downpour and it really didn't get any water in it to speak of.

Until I broke the zipper on mine (do not over stuff your bag!!!) it worked well without the cover. Like 2evil4u, I would use it when parked. Now I use it while riding because of said broken zipper.

I've come along way in the last year. In the past I never used rain covers. I just kept all my bag's contents in various sized ziploc bags.

I've got waterproof bags for backpacking that go inside my saddlebags, and those work pretty good. I started using those after a road trip and it was raining... leaving all my gear in them completely wet. Not to happy about that. I guess I'll just have to use the same thing for the tank bag when I've got stuff in there. I wanted it more for when it was sitting out in the elements during stops, 'cause the water seems to fly off pretty good while moving.
If anyone out there still has one, hook a brother up!!

Chad

Chadr81, Good News! I was looking around the garage and found my old raincover from my old standard (not deluxe) tank bag. They're identical.

It's yours if ya want it, just pm me your mailing address.

Metalstorm:

The main zipper on mine failed last Friday during my SS1000 ride. I took it to the dealer I bought it at without my receipt on Saturday and they handed me a new one in exchange no questions asked. You might see if you can get it exchanged.

The next time I make it over to my dealer I will certainly give it a try.

I'ts been a while since I bought it and the receipt disappeared long ago but you never know : )
