no luck from the supplier - we'll have to measure it

8mm or 10mm or 12 mm

(still need to measure, but the diameter of a dime is almost 18 mm)

bummer, wish i had measured the last time i had the bulbs out. i think i did but dont think i wrote it down anywhere. stoopid. i have a habit of making 'special places' to keep something, like a scrap of paper with measurements, then proceed to completely forget where the hell i put it! hahaa.

im slammed with work then i leave for a week otherwise id go out in the garage right now. grrrrr. if you guys dont have any progress in a week i'll take apart my cluster and measure everything (along with take pics of my tail for DOOM! some time soon, man!)

Typeone,

Don't worry about the tail. I am modifying my stock tail. Plus, I saw the thread about the tail from speed-of-color. If, in the future, I wish to move in that direction; I have it bookmarked.

DOOM

PS My dash overlay should be here soon. I'll measure the bulbs while I'm in there. Thanks ; )

I've got a scaled manufacturer's CAD drawing of the bulb at home along with some loose T1's next to my computer. I'll post measurements around 8pm Eastern Time.

looks like type A will work. They are 1mm taller than stock but I think that will be OK

You think a type A will work huh? Well, for a couple bucks I will take the chance -- what is the stock color of the lights in an XB anyways? Thanks for looking into this guys -- now if only the headlight issue was as easy to solve...

Cheers,
Ret

Ret-
Let us know if the type A works. For the price, I may buy each color LED and experiment.

Midnight,

No, I can't reach the nut in the back to take the damn dash off. I have to go buy a small 8mm wrench or a set. I thought someone posted that they were 9mm tall bulbs. I'll try to do it Sunday. Gotta party on Friday and maybe Saturday.

I received my overlay as well and it is very nice looking -- much better than stock, thats for sure. I too can't reach the bolts to take them off so I will be removing my faring and maybe headlights too (good time to check my headlight status. Oh well -- not the worst thing to spend a friday night doing. I was supprised to find that it seems my 12R need metric to do this operation -- and I wish that in the service manual it would say what size a nut is so I don't have to play the "what size is it" game.

If someone does do this mod would you post pics and experiences please -- any help for this novice is helpful.
