Man, this bike really scoots now. I found a new way to lighten it up.


Racing Dipstick


I must have saved at least 10 or 15 grams and it quit using oil (I think).

What I meant to say is be careful how you wipe your dipstick when checking oil level. Don't use the plug end to spin the dipstick in your rag, sooner or later it will look like mine.

There was, I got it coming. Should have just waited. I broke my clutch cable wireform today, would have been worth ordering the 2 things.

I've had that thing off and on at least 20 times, why break now? And I wonder how much life is left in a used plastic dipstick? I guess I'll find out.

where can you buy that alu type dipstick with the temp sensor in it? will it fit a lightning long???

Good question. I'd like to know as well.

I almost wish my dipstick would break so I wouldn't have to track consumption like an OCD patient! Thanks for the photo though. That clearly shows that the older dipsticks are different than my 07's.

I made it myself.
from alu with a spring inside.
It make a light in the dash go out when
the temp reach a 100c
