Suppose a ficticious situation where two identical riders of identical skills were riding a tuber and an XB with identical powerbands. On a nice tight, many curved course, which would be quicker???

Im gonna post this on the Old School board as well.....

The XB is a better machine I love the old tubers but the XB hands down

I should say that the XB would be rather quicker, especially if the two riders were able to exploit the the qualities of both machines to the the fullest.

After all, that is the reason they produced the XB series.

That being said, anyone who has seen a Tuber being ridden enthusiastically on the street by DJKaplan, Smoke or Paint Shaker, just to mention a few I have ridden with, will agree that a well maintained Tuber has plenty of life left in it.

XB. This bike is like a ski made strictly for moguls.

That's a good question. One would be inclined to believe the XB would handle better. I can tell subtle differences between my Tuber and my XB, but can't really say either is a hands down winner over the other...

I should have both of them at MBV, allowing me to do back to back runs over a known course (the test ride loop).

Side note; The tuber has had a worn out rea shock for some time now, which has since been replaced!

I know for a fact an XB will handle better than that evil Sportster Custom I almost levered off the road when the pipes hit the asphalt during a demo ride at MB III.

I'm pretty sure no one has ever described riding an XB a little too fast as being like, "climbing down a tree, carrying an anvil", like I have my tuber.

I think i'm quicker on my xb, or maybe it's just easier. But I took out my s3 today with a new pair of M3's and I still left my buddies in the dust. Maybe I should ride my wife's 883, I'm getting tired of riding alone, and it seems like riding any Buell is like cheating. Brian

having ridden both on the track, I had better track times on the XB. I just felt more comfortable on the bike, and was able to push it a lil bit harder. that next week I bought the CityX

Night and day in handling. Power from an X1 to and XB12 is not such a big deal.

I know several years back, the big debate with street rod cars was fuel injection or carburation...

I know fuel injection is more efficient, but it is sooooooo much fun to ride that carburated Tuber!!!

P.S. Gentleman Jon, thanks for the props... but I really am slow (on both the XB and the Tuber)!!!

I'll say one thing you can do better than most... you have the ability to ride an S1 touring bike distances. If you made someone do that, it would be considered torture by the Geneva Convention.

DJ,

Didn't you notice I walked funny after that?? LMAO

It's all about the ride, and I had to cram as much as I could into a short time frame.
