Just a note on the XB12STT- there's a kit that dealers can get to convert it to look like a regular Lightning but it keeps the STT suspension. There's one at my local dealer with the translucent red airbox cover, it's a real stunner. The red airbox with the black wheels, tail section, and handlebars really looks great. With the extra height and length it looks like a bigger and meaner Lightning. I'd love to take it out hypermotard hunting some time.

Woah, calm down there yankee. Wasn't even aimed at you. I was just talking absolute numbers because there were two graphs with guess what? ABSOLUTE NUMBERS.
If you had bothered to read the previous post you would have read that my experiences with the jap riders were all very fast with the more than occasional wheelie.
Again, not my cup o' tea.
You're worse than the media, you took my first sentence and flogged me on that.
Again, facts is facts, Comparative V's and IL's are torque and speed, respectively.
I have written my last post on this thread because all Dyna was looking for was info. comparing the Buell to the R6 and the CBR600RR, from his thread not mine.

Yankee? Not sure where you're going with that...

Regardless, absolute numbers can be used on those graphs because they're comparing similar machines. Your Buell is not similar, so it has no business being included on that graph without some kind of modifier.

I have no idea what those bikes are - they look to make more power than a 600 but less than a 1000, so I'm assuming they're 750s. In any event, they don't make much less torque than an XB12, and they make their peak torque power at the top of the rev range, just like an XB (yeah, we have a lot down low, but peak is at 6000rpm).

All I was getting at was you can't exclude power figures because they make power higher than your bike can rev. If the engine was designed to operate in that range, then it can't be held against it. And you don't really have to wait for the power unless you insist on launching the bike at 2000 rpm. Rev it up and slip the clutch and you'll find yourself in the powerband in no time.

It's trying to argue that a Cessna 172 with a is better than an F-16 because it makes more power at 2700 rpm, and the jet has to rev up to 100,000 grand to do anything.

Suzuki is the only one who make a 750. So those ARE 1000's.

Dont let me get you to riled, but you try and launch a bike at 7k and you are more than likely going down or breaking stuff. I launched the bolt at 5500 rpm and snapped a belt, slipping the clutch.

Really tho, until you get a little more seat time on some bikes other than your Buell, be careful what you say.

OK the only thing I want to add to this mess is MY Buell is a whole lot easier to ride fast IN THE REAL WORLD than my buds Busa. Sure he'll smoke me in a strait line but on the back roads I got him coming and going BECAUSE he starts bottoming out and it rides a bit rough!

It's all about the fun factor to me anyway. I'm to damn old to be play "Boy Racer" any more. I no longer bounce when I fall off I break!

And Anyway John Law has had a little talk with us about such things. "Press hard please six copies"
