That rocks. Too bad I couldn't see the complete exhaust cycle and valve overlap. Sweet indeed though.

We created several videos like that at my college. We were designing new diesel injectors and wanted to optimize the spray pattern to make it run stoichiometric instead of the typical lean burn diesel engine (more air than is needed for the fuel).

Whats so difficult is that the fuel ignites as soon as it enters the combustion chamber creating a stream of fire rather than a uniform "explosion" IE in a diesel engine the fuel burns rather than detonates as in spark ignition engines. thats one thing that holds back direct injection.
