I was dinking around in photoshop today, instead of studying for my stats exam that's tomorrow, and I put together what my dream Buell will look like.

Its based of my XB9sx- with a tube headlight, complete naked front, trimmed tail and LED brake/turnlight, lowered seat to fit lines of bike, and crossroads bars. There are some color changes I might make (like cherrybomb wheels/red lettering and of course exhaust) but this is the jist of it..anyone else has a mock up of their bikes cosmetic goal? What does your dream Xb (within affordable limits) produce?

I'm thinking on painting it this winter, but I'm pretty close to having what I see as my perfect XB.

Specs are in my profile:

My Firebolt

100rwhp, 86ftlbs of torque on the dyno.

After this pic I swapped suspension out for scg suspension parts, and I want to convert to ZTL2 front brakes and a
thumb operated rear brake, but other than that and maybe a few more motor mods I'm there!

I wonder if Bud or one of the other guys up there could get me a couple of the Hal's-PA fairing decals that face
the correct way to replace the ones I'll have to remove to paint it......Unless Hal's is tired of the free advertising that is

I like your photoshop; however, to balance things out, perhaps you could use a larger headlight assembly, maybe some sort of angular fairing with triple or twin projectors. Maybe even a VRod headlight. That would look awesome! hmmmm...

I'd have to concede that Leeroy's bike is the coolest XB Lightning ever. That gas mask is freakin' WILD!!! I'm considering a similar makeover for my F-bolt, but with an XLCR fairing and XR-750 tailsection.

I agree- typeone's bike is my absolute favorite XB: much of the inspiration for that photochop came from his bike, absolutely love it

The Gimp is THE best photo manipulation software you can get for free. It's also better than most commercial photo manipulation software.

Halspa.com has the fairings. Be sure to order the mount kit too if you are ordering the bodywork.

It is made by skarkskinz, but only available through Hal's in the US.

Nice shot of you cornering on your XB! The foliage behind you, almost makes it look like you started a fire exiting that corner LOL!

well the poor little 9 did make an impression at the track. there were more than a couple people that commented that they were having a hard time with the fact they were getting out pulled by a 9, even in the straights(well up to the rev limiter atleast lol) needless to say i was very proud of my first track day weekend.

(i guess it helps that the consensus is that im nuts anyway though!)

A little "juice" always helps. Good to keep their heads from swelling too much .

Time2Roll, the weekend is waiting (AMF)

My dream XB would be:

My '07 XB9R with a solid dealer network that has techs that know and care about the Buell line, a parts department that does not take 10-12 days to get me a new rear tire (2nd time in 2 months....waiting on #2) and a dealer sales force that knows more about the bike than I do.

Or better yet a street XBRR w/all of the above.

Love Buells, am constantly amazed at the after sales experience. And not in a positive way.
