I bought a D&D for $515.00 shipped, and am seeing Buell pipes that are 4-5 years old being sold, used, for $500.00. Is the Buell pipe that much better or is the $500.00 selling price for those who don't know about Drummer, D&D, Jardine and others that sell for $500.00 or less new?

I saw a pipe in the classifieds, off of an 03, that's dented and the guy is still asking $500.00. How much was just the can when it was available?

The Jardine is a piece of crap. The others are good. If he's asking, and some ones buying, I guess they think it's worth it.

I heard the same thing about Jardine, so I stayed away from it. I read the classified about 2 weeks ago and some guy said he was selling his race can to buy a Jardine.

That is NOT a good idea. Those things basically just fall apart.

I switched from a race pipe to a D&D. I just sold the race pipe in the classifieds for $325 shipped to a fellow badwebber around a month ago. The D&D has more punch in the midrange then the race pipe. I really like the power of the D&D for the street as well as the sound.
My friend has a Micron and all I can say is that that is the exhaust to have. Sounds awesome and the power is amazing. I have been told that the Micron is a bolt-on 7hp on a 9 without changing anything else. If you get a K&N and remap the ecm you can get over 10hp.
I sold the race pipe because I felt that I would never use it again. If I get a newer XB, It will definitely have a Micron on it.

John,
Two years ago I bought the race kit for the wifes 9,I think it was $600 something. The reason they are pricey now is because they are not sold new anylonger.

Thanks for the input fellas. I sorta figured guys were getting away with selling the Buell pipe for so much because it wasn't around anymore. But the folks buying them for 500 or so probably just don't know about the likes of D&D and Drummer.

Dana, what pipe are you running on your bike? How does it compare to the race pipe on your wife's?

John,I've had the race pipes on my wifes since close to brand new. Its a great pipe as far as I'm concerned. On my 12 I've had the original Drummer first. Then I had a D&D,then I bought the Drummer SS.As of right now I like the SS the best. Smooth across the board.

Or they may just want a genuine Buell Race can.
Being rare (semi-rare) is also the reason for the high dollar price.
I've had almost every exhaust (slip-on) on my bike.
The Drummer SS sounds the best and pulls almost from idle.
The D&D has the best mid-range pull.
The Odie, is the best bang for the buck, and has a similar power curve as the original Drummer.
I've not had the Micron on yet, but have ridden a Nine with it, and it was tuned.
That is the way I'll go next.
And if the Buell Race pipe goes any higher in price, I'll have half the money to do it!
