I stripped my xb down and am bringing the frame, swingarm, wheels, trees, rearsets, rocker covers in for powder. i have to remove the fuel pump and have the manual handy. it looks pretty straightforward, anyone done it? anything to look out for? | ||

The frame has a liner in it to seal up the porosities in the castings. Be sure that your powder coater is aware of this because heat can damage the coating. Other than that talk to your coater to find out what they require in the way of preparation because you can save yourself time and money by doing much of this work yourself. Avoid using chemical strippers though, they can cause trouble getting anything else to stick to the parts. | ||

Contact pete from grandstand designs he a good friend of mine and does some really cool stuff with buells. including powder coating . his race bike its tits. one of the nicest bikes at the track. call him 732-722-2955 | ||

I have done other bikes, not a Buell YET, anyways make sure to protect areas you DON'T WANT the coating, eg head bearing area, swing arm pivot and ground locations. |
