Hey all, just picked up an xb9sx and to be honest I bought it because I live one town over from Justin over at Two Bit Choppers. After talkin with him I wanted to build a mutant.

Well fast forward a few weeks, found the xb9sx, picked it up, but now I'm digging the bike in its current form. I'm going to keep it as is but want to do some small tweaks as its currently bone stock except for a D&D pipe (which sounds awesome).

So I'm thinking about rippin off the hand/wind guards, doing some bar end mirrors, traction grips, rippin off the passenger pegs/mounts, and doin the buell 1" lower seat. Any other suggestions on good cheap upgrades?

I'm also looking at doing some performance upgrades motor wise. With already having the pipe would an intake and race ecm make a noticeable difference? Especially down low?

Suspension will stay stock, I'm a cruiser guy, just picked this up to mess around with. The bike stock has all the cornering abilities I'll ever need/use.

Thanks in advance

-bud

I have a stock 06 City X, you will love the bike. Axle sliders are a good idea. The stock mirrors are crap (they where the first thing to go on mine). The hand guards are nice on a cool day to keep the wind off the hands, but some people don't like them.

Be sure to put the passenger footpeg mount hardware back in after removing the mounts. I've had a few guys come into the shop complaining about electrical issues after they removed the mounts. The mount hardware holds the battery in place, without it the battery moves around and I've found that it eventually wears through the ECM wiring.
enjoy, Eric
