I was thinking back on the thread in the 1125R board about the spring tensioner. Annoy. mentioned that they did test with the right side air scoop but couldn't use it due to it messing up emissions. I'm curious how so it did this. I'm not trying to start a debate, just wanting to learn some more on it. Was wondering if this could be answered. |

I thought the Annoy said that the right side scoop raised the rear head temperature under certain circumstances. And that from the factory, the bikes have to work in so many different conditions, overall they worked better without the scoop. Under your circumstances the scoop might be helpful, but under mine, it might hurt, and from the factory they have to design with both of us in mind. |

I don't remember him saying it RAISED the rear head temperature. It would make sense that it might LOWER it enough that the fuel doesn't atomize properly causing additional exhaust emissions in SOME cases. That being the case, it is possible it COULD fail some regional environmental requirements requiring the whole line to be recertified. |
