So I have chips in the Translucent Amber Finish on my front wheel. Does anyone know of anything I can use to touch this up? I have been thinking of shopping for a similar nail polish. Any experience or ideas guys? By the way are the new finishes any better? I would hope that they worked this out.

I can't say for sure, but I think Buell might carry touch up for it. Don't quote me though.

Cat is correct.

Buell sells some touch up paint for the wheels, and it works fairly well as long as you don't look too closely: it is brush applied.

No spray that I know of.

I finally gave up on the amber wheels and had them powder coated, partially because the amber finish was very brittle and delicate, partly because I got tired of the color.

I used a Honda Civic touch up paint. They only offered the color for a short time but it matches really closely. Something like an 02 model year or something. I got the paint accidentally from the parts dept. for marking t-belts so I did not have to check the marks on the block and head. I will see if I can find it and post a part #.

Yep Buell has it in a little nail polish bottle, I got one in my tool box right now. It works ok for little chips, it takes several coats to get it to the right color. Its really thin.

The dealer "touched up" the rim on my XBS after the crash and it looks like a 12 year old did it.
You might want to do a search, someone posted the same question here within the last few months. They said that Duplicolor (sp?) has some spray and its almost an exact match.

Duplicolor has discontinued the Metalcast Orange color.
