Steve's Uly-bolt fooled a lot of people even at homecoming. A lot of people did not realize what had been done to it.

With my firebolt (scg suspension) parked next to his bike it really showed the difference in the suspension heights.
VERY dramatic.

Buell engineers took a lot of interest and very detailed pics of Steve's bike while we were at the plant too. I wouldn't be
too surprised to see some sort of spin-off in the near future.

For the extra bones you can't go past a 'busa compared to a VFR800. I had a mate with a VFR800 with the VTEC and it was a dog compared to the previous model he traded on it. Check a dyno curve, the VTEC was implemented to get the engine past emission tests cause they do drink a fair bit of fuel for a smaller engine. Don't look too far from the GSXR1000 either as they make a pretty good tourer once kitted out.

They have a couple of 1000's on the floor. I am not looking to race anyone.

From all the "new to me" info on the VFR, I am no longer considering it.

The 08 'busa is pretty comfy to sit on. The Sprint salesman said friends have done touring on them. I just called the insurance co. to check on that end, and it's $540 a year for the Sprint and $570 a year for the 'busa. Making it so close is not fair.

Suzuki dealer definitely wants sticker on the 08 (has no 07's in stock); whereas 07 Triumph would be $2,000 less. Don't want an 07 'busa as I would look like everyone else at work.

dont give up on the vfr just yet...it s a v-four with a nice deep rumble, comfortable for all day riding, and although not a track bike, not a slouch going wot eithter....valve adjustments, 16000 miles ....every other year....no goofy graphics, single swing arm, ect

the VFR series of bikes have long been regarded as some of the best all around motorcycles
ever built. It's no accident that they received this acclaim. I owned an interceptor once,
it was an 84 VF1000f, but it is still my third favorite bike I have ever owned (behind my firebolt,
and first generation GSXR750). Aside from their traditional electrical issues (Voltage
regulators and stators are the bikes biggest weak point and have been for several generations)
They are very good motorcycles for almost anything you would want to do on pavement.

I am not a fan of the latest vtec valve mess, but IIRC there is a way to engage the vtec
and keep it that way kind of like the vmax owners making the v-boost stay on.

I've always been a sucker for the looks of a single side swingarm too.

Adding bags to the VFR makes it an expensive package and the dealer won't do much for price as he has only sells about 2 a year and has to get one.

Well, the XB is on its way to Canada to its new home. Feels kinda strange after 8 years of having a Buell in the driveway.

Of course, the wife took the cash to the bank before I finished signing the paperwork.
