I have an 03' XB9SL with about 6150 miles on the ODO. It is in cherry condition - clean title as well. I am getting her ready to post her for sale here, on ebay, craigs list, and my local paper. I am hoping I can at least get $4000 for her. Here are the mods I have done;

Professional Paint Job - 'Blacked Out'
Villan Black Rims
Corbin Seat
Drummer Exhaust
Black Ceramic Coated Header
Race ECM
K&N Filter
De' Snorkled
Pirelli Diablo Tires - ~2K on them now
CRG Adustable Black Levers
Intergrated Tail/Turn - Light/Signal
Low Profile Cat Eye Front Turn Signals
Traction Grips
Rentahl Bars - Medium Rise
New Battery
Dark Horse Front and Rear Axle/Swing Arm Sliders

New Upper and Lower Steering Bearings
Updated Wheel Bearings
Updated Kickstand
250ftlb Torque on Primary Nut
Fresh Oil/Primary Change w/ Mobil 1

The mods add up to ~$2500. I paid $5000 for the bike last year. It had about 3000 miles on the ODO. I have almost $7500 wrapped up in the bike. What do you think? Is $4000 gonna happen?

PS - The picture of my bike in my profile is not its current condition. That picture is from when I first bought the bike.

You need to remember that for the most part. Upgrades don't add to the resale value for some reason. As a matter of fact some mods actually devalue the bike for some reason. Example is the franken buells.

4k should not be a problem. But it is the end of the riding season and the market is flooded with cheap rides.

I will post some pics tomorrow with the header............I am really on the fence selling this bike. I have a XB12 calling my name. But I love what I have done to my bike. I would love to put a Micron system with a stage 1 or stage system on the bike. I think it would scream. But thats over 2K. On the other hand, it would cost more than 2K to mod a XB12 the way I have done my XB9. What a dillema!!

I agree. I've been doing a lot of mods to my 06 XB9Sx, but I'm keeping ALL the stock parts in boxes so I can change back to stock when/*IF* I ever decide to sell...

If you decide to go this route- I'd buy those levers off ya (if they're shorties)! Probably the sliders, too. :-p

I also agree on the $4k= no problem for your bike.

4,000 easy, but i'd wait until spring. All the cheap guys are out looking this time of year.

That's right. Riding season is almost over for most people and now is not the best time to sell.

$4k sounds like a good deal for the buyer, if you can find one. Good luck.

Best time to sell is right about the time income tax refunds happen. A lot of people use that cash to buy a bike for the summer.

Fall/winter is a buyer's market. Spring/summer belong to the sellers.

$4k should be easily attainable with a clear title no matter what time of year, but it may take a little while to find a buyer
this time of year.

Badlionsfan,

I cant get my pic to upload. I tried several times, after resizing each time. I keep getting the re-size prompt.

To everyone else, I think I am keeping her. I am too attached to all of the work I have done to her. I think I will take of the Drummer off and add a stage 1 or stage 2 1050cc kit with a Micron exhaust system this winter. That should give some extra power to hold me over a season or two more.

are you crazy!!!
$4,000 is a steal.
You could easily get that for her.
But speaking from experience, you will hate yourself after you sell her!!!!!!
