You can hit up your dealer to ask what he'd work for you on a replacement frame (you can keep your VIN that way) - but that's more like $1000 or so.

I'd go check ebay to see what the prices that some of the auctions have concluded for on forks and frames.

E-bay replacements seem to be about $400 forks and about $500-700 frame. (often more)

I assume your insurance doesn't cover it? (you DON'T have to report it if you're going to fix it yourself)

What kind of frame damage do you have? Bet you might be able to sell it to a racer if the sides are only dented! (hint hint hint)

Hope I didn't sound like a jerk in NOT saying anything about hoping you're OK!!!!

I really DO hope you are OK - sounds like (except the damage on the bike) you are in pretty good shape. Whew!

If they total it, you might think about buying it back salvage from the insurance company and get a second bike out of the deal.

A dealer will probably put enough parts onto the fix-it list to mean the bike might be totalled. I've raced with big dents in the frame. The forks really don't take being bent and straightened without binding.

If you look at replacing every part that is scratched with new parts, it often means totalling a perfectly rideable bike. Make sure you see if your adjuster will let you put in a salvage bid... sometimes they'll work with you.

Good luck. Bone bruises SUCK Big Time!!!

I had my frame replaced last year........It was a little over $2K. Although, my forks weren't damaged. I would add on another $500 for the forks.

Are these frames getting dented *with* the frame pucks installed? Or just getting dented where the frame puck would have been?

Either way, hopefully a new puck will "fix" it.
