I would like to get rid of the stock cable clutch and put a hydraulic clutch on. I have done this with my dirt bikes but don't know if there is a kit for the Buell. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, Torque.

American Sportbike sells a hydraulic clutch for the XB.

I put the American Sport bike kit on my XB and truly love it. I have the Cross Country bars on an 04 (heavy clutch pull)it makes all the difference it the world. Spend the money, you wouldnt regret it.

I just put the same Magura kit on mine as well. Got mine from Josh Cox at Cycle Connection (they're also sponsors here). Excellent kit! I have crossroads bars, so I need to shorten the tube a bit, but that's all. It's an easy install. The worst part was getting the grip off so I could remove the old lever base from the bar. I like the nice smooth actuation/feel it gives! Plus I no longer have rain water down the cable into my case...!

You can try this - www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-prodshow/16077.html - is not a hydraulic clutch but the manufacturer claims it reduces pull by 40%. It is also about $100 cheaper than a hydraulic clutch kit - not to mention easier to install. I talked with Al today. He really likes this product and reassured me it performs as well as the manufacturer claims it does. He feels it worth the $$. He convinced me, I ordered one today. Easier to install than a hydraulic clutch and a $100 cheaper - no brainer for me.

I have bought from American Sport Bike both the Muller Power Clutch (see G4string's post) and the Magura hydraulic clutch kit on my '04 12R. The clutch pull is very light and easy to hold. Best of all, no more forearm pump from commuting in stop & go traffic or sitting at stoplight after stoplight!

The only negative is the Magura kit's lever. It's weird (it's got an adjusting screw at 90 degrees to the pivot bolt, through the backside) and it's also tiny and oddly shaped. Worst of all: last time I checked with Al, there wasn't one of CRC's gorgeous anodized, ergo-shaped shorties available as a replacement. (I sold my pair to an Aussie Bueller last year and I still miss their feel.)
