Hello all.
As mentioned in my previous post about chopping my fender off.
Im going to remove my internals for my brake light and my turn signals and replace with LED's.

Any one tried this? I plan on posting a full report when done. just wondering if any one has any tips or tricks?

working for a german car dealer, i have plenty of high powered tail lamp LED's that i can use.

Also if anyone has any stock signals they would like to sell or donate, please please send me a pm! i have already broken a couple. and im in need for some more! thanks

THANKS GUYS!

i have a custom R6 LED tail-light on my 'Bolt. I removed the turn signals and used an integrated brake/turn signal. You will also need to use a relay or your turn signals will blink at hyper speed. Good luck.

i thought about building the signals into the brake light, but opted out. i like the look with the stock ones. just want them brighter. plus the more LED's for the brake the better!
I'm going for "holly XXXX, thats bright"
if you know what i mean.

I used the heavycycles integrated tail light from American Sportbike. I had them make mine with red integrated signals, then I put the signals on a tailblazer. So when I stop my tail light comes on, and the integrated signals blink steadily faster until constantly on. I also used my stock red tail light lens, and it's still very bright.
I am very happy with my Oberon L.E.D. turn signals. They are a little pricey but I felt very worth it.

Phillips Superflux LED's

these are the LED's i will be using.
Phillips Superflux (lumileds.com)
just
desoldering them off the tail lamp circuit board of an S-class. and turn signals from an E-class.

I will have to spend a little time getting the resistance correct for the constant lights (driving lights) and then the brake lights. but from the minor playing around ive done it will be pretty easy.

then with the turn signals, i have the same LED's but in amber color, and i'll modify a board to fit in the housing and remove the amber covering.
only problem is i need some more housings
(broken a couple so far, ooppss)
so any one have extras????

Manimal, no fear!
I plan on doing a full pictorial and i'll post when done.
Im going to try and keep track of my time and costs as well. so i can inform others as to the possible savings.
(yes, i know some of you are saying there only 40-50 bucks on ebay, well that is for the cheap LED's. im going BIG, real BIG, HAHAHAHA and using the 4 prong super bright LED's.
but we will see it might be a total flop, who knows :-)

I'm not sure on the quality of my LED's but i always thought that my tail-lights would look awesome on a XB9s. I posted a pic of my rear light on your other thread. I have to say that is maybe my favorite thing on my bike. It cleans up the rear end really well.

They do look pretty good.
In all my research for rear end set ups, i have seen one or two S models with that set up. honestly, on the S it looks kinda odd in my book. but blends in well with the R's.
Just my opinion though.

So anyone have any extra stock signals laying around??????

Yeah, i love the body lines of the bolt. that was the original thing that drew me to it. But the power was a nice bonus. i love buells. Buell rider for life.

i just pulled the stock signals from a 2000 blast. i used the wires on the replacement signals, but there are two good housings with long stems, and one ok rear housing with short stem, and one reflector assy only (the stem and lens were cracked). how about a trade for some of those tasty LEDs????
