Well it has been out about a year and I was wondering what all you tt owners would like to say about your experiences. Featured this month in FUELL as a possible sport- tourer, I began thinking that I would love to have more suspension on my XB9SX and maybe it is time to trade up. Let me know what you guys think of your tt. Also post pics if you have them. I have read Danger Dave's write up and video on it but I would love to hear more reviews from y'all. tanks

I'm in the market for one as well but I'm coming off a Triumph Tiger and am just curious how well an air cooled is going to fair here in NYC.

Where did you buy you cityx from? I hear good things about Liberty Buell in Rahway.

Liberty in Rahway are good folks. I attended an event there last sept. Erik Buell was there with his band. And the guys from Queensryche drove up with there customized Buell Uly's that they were traveling on throughout their tour. I have heard good things about dealing with them. You might want to give them a shot on the sponsors page

The TT is an awesome machine. I am still trying to figure out how to make the TT suspension work on my CityX, it is the rear shock that is the killer of the project right now.

Steve, I wish Buell offered a bike just like your modified TT.

I honestly believe you built the perfect Buell sport tourer.

Steve,
How is the uly seat with the tt/city-x handlebars? How would you compare it to the Uly bars if you have ever ridden the Uly? Also, how is the lower foot peg distance with the lower bars in comparison with the higher pegs from the TT? Great job with the bike. If I were to get the 2008 ULY I was thinking of swaping the bars for the City-x bars. tanks for your time.

Seems as if Buell would be cutting into their own market nich if they produced a TT like Steve's. That is the one I would have purchased, no doubt about it.

If you still bought a Buell, how would that cut into their market? I have the sneaky feeling that all the attention that Steves bike is getting that it would sell like hot cakes. Nice job again Steve.

Man, I was all excited about the low pegs on the "TT" until I realized that's a Ulysses.
The ability to fit lower pegs on the TT would be a big plus for me.

Vicster, I could be wrong but, I believe Steve had a TT and purchased a rear set and seat from the ULY and fit them on his TT, along with the 'bolt front end of course. ;o)

Aah, see where I get confused after looking at the 2 side by side is that the Ulysses appeared to me to have a different frame casting in the foot peg area. I hadn't realized that apparently you can bolt on entire rear sections.
So now I really am interested to hear what this entailed.

Well, I am still loving my completely stock STT. I bought it in mid-May, and I'm riding it every chance I get. I think this is the best-handling bike I have ever owned. I've had faster bikes (my previous bike was a Yamaha FZ1), but the STT just puts smile on my face every time I ride it. It's been said before, but it just delivers a satisfying amount of power without having to be riding at hyperspeed to enjoy the powerband.

One of the Buell engineers at the Homecoming told me that they designed the bike for a single rider so they were able to tune the suspension for maximum effectiveness with a single rider on board. My experience is that all the twisty roads I loved to ride with my previous bikes became more fun to ride at an even quicker pace. The rougher roads that made me slow down a bit on other bikes just disappear underneath the STT's suspension, and I can rail right through the turns as if the roads were smooth. Amazing!!!

Can you tell I love this bike? Now I'm wondering how the 1125r will combine the wonderful handling of my STT with the power of other sportbike engines. Awesome, but I think the STT will still be at least one of the bikes in my garage.

I love my TT ! We have some real smooth roads here in MD, but when I go on day trips into PA I find myself really appreciating the extra couple of inches of travel. I have some throw over soft bags that just tie down over the rear number plates, on and off in a minute. I have test ridden the Firebolt and Lightning CG (that was STIFF) and the TT just feels so smooth on everyday roads. We test rode a 10 mile loop that included a gravel road and dirt and those Uly tires on the TT really inspired confidence. I've even manhandled her on a rutty logging trail but once it got rocky I had to turn around...it is NOT a dual sport like my KLX250S...but I had to try !!!

All I can say is if you aren't a track day person this is a very fast, powerful everyday bike that will kill the real world twisties and eat up potholes for dinner. At 400lbs it is lighter than most of the other 'nakeds' out there. It is so dang flickable. Want to check out a dirt or gravel road...hit it. I wouldn't recommend it for more than a weekend trip, at least at my age, but it definitely is great for work. And at 5'9" I can easily get my leg up and over and plant my feet flat at a stop....the Uly was just too tall for me. I find the seat very comfy for hours on end...which I didn't expect.

Can you tell I ALSO love this bike. But I'm thought to be weird...my other Harley is water-cooled....

Steve also has a 'bolt' front fender as those are not TT or Uly pieces! That is a beautiful custom !

Yes I love my TT. I have the full buell bag set. They fit the TT good, but because of no passenger pegs I had to use a bungie cord under the seat for a rock solid fit. They hold about weekends worth of stuff, But I have to carry a pack for bulky clothes. I live in the White Mountains of Arizona and have easy access to some of the best twistees in the country, This bike works! I also fly fish and the bike does reasonably well on hard pack dirt. Wish buell had a way to disengage the steering restrictors under 10 mph, then the bike could be a good off road bike. My only worry is the tires being damaged off road and then driving at highway speeds.
