ok i was looking at a uly and was wondering is is possible to put the backrest/rack on a cityx? and if not does someone make something similar aftermarket? And another question...whats the advantage in switching to a chain from the belt?

the tail sections are different, so no. if you aren't racing your bike, there is no advantage. it will make you go faster, but only because your wallet will be so much lighter.

It has been done to an XB12Ss. I did not do the mod, but it looks like the entire tail section, seat, etc were used from a Uly.

SS and uly have same frame, and is different than std S models. anything CAN be done, but it would require fabrication to make it work.

how about aftermarket. I was thinking someone must make something.

I was thinking of fabing up a little hoop from some tubing that would run just behind the seat about an inch back and using the pasenger peg mounting location as a mount. then if you wanted you might be able to adapt some type of removable sissy bar.

In all honestly I would be in the fabrication of stages of the project, but I currently have no GF so no real reason for it yet.

Somebody has to have made something similar

the ventura rack offers a lil bit of back stopper, but it is NOT a back rest. I did have a customer mount a pad to it and reinforce the hollow tubes with solid round bar stock. American Sportbike carries the ventura rack kit. check them out in the vender area.

i talked to Corbin about their seat, the gunslinger with the back rest for my S. right now they are only making it for the long. He said if I can get enough people to call, and get a bike out to their factory in Ca, they will make it. I personally would love this. Anyone want to join and start calling. im going to call about once a week and keep checking their site. Power in numbers.
