I have an '03 9R all stock. I just brought it back from the mountains, ~ 6,000 ft and am now back at sea level. The bike had been stored in the mountains, I threw a battery in it and it started right up after 8 months of storage. I brought it back to the coast and it seems to be running fine, normal power and all ( I do have a small exhaust leak at the front cylinder) except I am only getting about 80 miles to the tank instead of my normal ~140/tank. I have'nt rode the bike long distances since my return, just back and forth to work about 12 miles each way, I have commuted on it before and this had'nt been an issue. Any ideas?
Thanks

Run that sucker on the highway at a steady RPM and reset the AFV. You should be all good then. (hopefully!)

Also 12 miles seams like it would just about get warmed up. I find lots of short trips result poor fuel economy. Try riding through one whole tank full in one sitting and see what you getting for economy. Also how many gallons are you putting in it when you fill. I always fill it to that inner casting ring inside the fuel filler.

Thanks for the ideas. I will run it on the highway for a distance and hopefully that will fix the problem, maybe I'll reset the battery as well. I always fill the tank to the inner casting ring as well, usually right about 3 gallons per fill up and always the highest octane available.
