Just for the heck of it I am asking the following questions.

1. What are the total lifetime mileages on your bike? Include all XB bikes, of all years 2003 - present.
2. What type of riding?(street, track, highway, barhopping, etc.)
3. What was the WORST thing that went wrong
with the bike itself in those miles?

That I think is how you judge a bike (any bike) on how "good" it is.

1. 2004 XB12R 28k miles
2. Absolutely everything- commute, tour, track days, 2-up, "light" adventure
3. Base gasket leak around 4k miles, repaired under warranty. Wasn't a major failure, but the repair is fairly involved. Have to rotate the engine down and remove the top end.

I should add that despite owning the bike since 2003, Monday of this week was the first time the bike failed to start. Somehow I had managed to leave the key switched on for a few hours and completely drained the battery.

3. headlights are worthless. Replaced 3 speed sensors. @ 24k (way passed belt replacement interval) I chased a couple dirt bikes thru the woods. I got 2 holes in the belt. Belt works fine, just was paranoid and swapped to updated 03 belt. Oh yeah striped/loose bolts my fault ;) Thank god for helicoil/loctite.

1: 04' ST 75,000
2: Commute 100 miles/ day work and some trips, 2000-8000/ year

Oh shucks, that was for my ST1300.

My XB12r is 3 weeks old (for me) and 1700 miles. It's been too hot ( 15 consecutive days over 100, 25 days over 97)too ride more!

1: 04' XB12r 8932.

2006 XB12Scg 30,000 miles.
Replaced fan at 10,000 miles.
No other maintenance issues.
It is ridden 100 miles a day in heavy SoCal traffic in all situations.
Casrol Syntec 5W-50 used since break in.
This is the very best motorcycle I have ever owned in over 45 years of riding!

Donatello ! yea alright...

with his converted from S ... XB12R

eh uhm can you call it an R?

That's about it.

And of course a rice burner guy has to
break the badweather poster rule
(of which I said XB's ONLY)
and he doesn't get kicked off
of badweather.

Who me???? OOPS, someone forgot to explain to me the "Badweather poster rule". I own 3 bikes and one is an XB. At least I didn't hijack your thread, I just gave you more information than you asked for! I'm jealous that I have not had more time on the XB type.

I only have 75,000+ miles on a Buell, in less than 3 years. My r was purchased from one of your fellow Clevelandites who now has a Uly.

Besides, lighten up! You will enjoy life a LOT more.

Who me???? OOPS, someone forgot to explain to me the "Badweather poster rule".

yes you dude...

read my original question it clearly
states "include all XB bikes "
as seen below...
furthermore this is Buell board.

I'm not gonna say but I was kicked off
this site for other reasons which were more
Buell related then talking about RICE! <---which I erroneously misread you to be talking about a (honda) ST 1300 RICE burner. I don't know WHAT u are talking about there wasn't and ST1300 Buell in 2004
to my knowledge... so u are sneaking in
Honda talk and that ain't cool. Because
the ONLY ST 1300 I know of that was available in 2004 was that rice burner honda-sukiyaki-busa-kawi-ma...

" 1. What are the total lifetime mileages on your bike? Include all XB bikes, of all years 2003 - present."

I was specifically trying to study
XB bikes ONLY and what's going on with them since their genesis.

thank you anyhow and peace out...

i hope they don't kick me out again...

I hope they don't kick you off either. But I also included my Buell info.

So you do have more info than you asked for. That is always better than not having enough info.

So what great masterpiece are you going to write with all this Buell data???
