Strange, but 900 miles on the bike. I noticed a dip in seat-of-the-pants if I'm in 5th gear and WOT starting at 2000rpm. She pulls hard right at 2krpm which is great, but by 3500rpm, seems to dip a bit. By 5000rpm it picks back up. This happens in 3rd gear as well.

Looking at stock dyno curves, this seems normal, but what annoys me is if I'm about to pass a car, say in 3rd gear crusing at 3200rpm, the bike just falls flat on its face. I have to wait and wait.. by 5000rpm, then it picks back up.

Interactive valve seems to work, I hear an exhaust note change in certain rpm ranges. Would this be alleviated by going to a Drummer exhaust?

Yup, Those things rock, when I had mine the dip you speak of was gone.

Or you could just downshift...

I never rode mine long enough to notice the TQ dip with the stock pipe, but I don't feel anything of the sort with my Spec OPS pipe (almost the same results as a drummer except it keeps the exhaust servo).

I want to be certain that the Drummer in this case wouldn't worsen the dip in power in the mid range (especially after removing the valve).

Interesting. So from a Drummer, you lose 10ftlbs between 2k and 3k rpm, but your up about 5lbs from 3.5k till 6k, then even till 7. I can deal with that, worth a shot then. I was suprised this bike had so much power right at 2krpm! I've been getting used to keeping my normal riding revs in that area.

Good to know. Thanks.
