Middle left finger tip has worn through in only 1000 miles of riding. They should have made all the fingertips leather, why'd they do that? I'm ticked, guess it's back to Joe Rocket for everything... ....guess these will be my summer gloves. |

I'm with you Rkutzner... index finger and middle on clutch hand. I don't even think I got 1000 miles, and I thought they were going to be great cold weather gloves... |

+1 I bought the puck gloves a few years ago and they didn't last very long at all. |

Could you fine 9 finger folks e-mail me photos and a brief description of your glove experience. I'd like to make certain the person selecting the vendor is aware of the in service experience. One of the cool parts of the world of Buell is that at least we have an audience among the folks calling the shots. My sense is they'd like to know. Be sure to include what you paid, about how long you had them, the size, and any unusual use you may have subjected them to . . . I mean if you were walking on your hands through a volcano . . . well. we're screwed. Thanks in advance. |

I haven't had any issues with the Puck Gloves. My Joe Rocket on the other hand, hemorraged from every seam. Different hands, I guess. The most comfortable gloves I have EVER tried on, will be the next set, when these wear out: The Dianese Hellracer Gloves

I've had my puck gloves for over a year now. I've had only two issues with them...... The stitching around one of the "pucks" fell apart within the first six months, (super glue) fixed it. The other issue is that the black dye job hasn't held up very well. The gloves are turning white on me in the South Florida sunshine. And no I've never washed them, (except for rain). |

I have had severe issues with dye transfer. If the gloves get sweaty or wet from rain, I end up with blue hands. I did have to take a lighter to singe down the loose strings. They have been very comfortable with very little break-in. |

My JR gloves (both pair) have turned my hands orange when caught in the rain.... I've been looking for a gauntlet style glove for spring and fall riding seasons. Keep the responses coming, eyes are watching. |

Hi Court, I have some pictures here for you. Paid $59, about 2 months ago, no unusual uses. Other than the holes...(I was wrong about the index finger).. gloves are mint. Not a scratch, rip, or tear. They do bleed when wet, although mine were not as bad as others have described. And yes they are very comfortable, with little break-in.

That is EXACTLY what my left glove looked like. I ride my TT and V-Rod fairly normal, no track days....mostly to work. I have only had the gloves about 2 months. I don't have pictures as I sewed it up before it got too bad, hoping the ridge from the sewing will last. I have rubbed in a flexible epoxy on the 2 finger tip ends of both gloves hoping I'll be able to control the wear and tear that way. Is that material supposed to give better grip on the levers? I'd rather they used a suede leather there then. (Message edited by rkutzner on August 09, 2007) |

Been through two pair of mediums. Wore through one hand and other on the next. Was able to mix them and get a few more miles down range. Would probably still be on the first if they had used the same leather for all fingers.

My fingers are on the long side, and most gloves I've tried that fit my palm are too short in the fingers. I got a pair of Tourmaster gloves (black leather, gauntlet style, with carbon fiber knuckle guards, and a race style wrist strap) They fit like they were made for me and I have yet to have any issues with dye bleeding, unlike a pair of dainese I owned. Held, and Lee Parks are probably the best gloves on the market if you are looking for pure function without farkles. |

ALL the buell gear I've used sucked. The gloves wore through in under 1000 miles The 60$ shades iridium coating wore off after a few bug wipes. The "free" helmet they "gave" me when I bought my bike sucked so bad I threw it away. (Message edited by buelltroll on August 10, 2007) |

Same EXACT wear on my Puck gloves (left middle finger wore through,) and the occasional color transfer. I thought my experience was unique. My alpinestars have FAR outlasted my buel gloves, and for $20 less. |

The AStars were the worst gloves I have ever tried to fit my hands into. I guess they are for guys with narrow hands. I couldn't get my wide meat hooks into them. It didn't matter the size. |

+1 on the Held. My "Steve's" have 40k+ miles on them, just keep getting softer and a little darker. No bleed issues either. Neil S. |

Do I see that correctly? Fabric on the palm side of gloves? OK - maybe it's just me but WHY buy gloves with fabric on a surface that MIGHT hit the pavement if it weren't Kevlar(R) or Spectra(R) or other similar material? The cows lose their skin so you don't have to lose yours! If you are paying $60 for a set of gloves and getting a year out of them, you've done pretty good, I'd say. |

HELD I'm a heck of a lot less concerned about the gloves bleeding than I am ME bleeding. If you ever fell off a bicycle as a kid you know instinctively what part of your body you place at the greatest risk. Gloves, like condoms, warrant investing in the best you can get. |

Fortunately, the worst my Held gloves have seen is damp weather, sunshine and, miles of s'miles. You are 110% correct about putting your hands down to protect yourself by instinct. It's been a long time since I've bought condoms so I can't quite relate. But my gloves are in use everyday, many times a day and a bad fitting glove, can be worse than a bad fitting......... anyway you get my point ;+} Neil S. |

I have the same exact wear pattern on my Puck gloves: the middle fingertips came through. It's not even so much like wear, it's almost like the leather stretched thin and tore through. The leather is very thin. Just the same, these are the best fitting gloves I've ever had and I want another pair just like them!!! |

I am just wearing out my second set now as well... I think I get about a year and a half of riding out of them. I'll shoot some pictures of the wear. The second set just wore through on the palms. The finger is getting thin, but not through yet. Like BuellBoy, I have not been able to find another set that fits nearly as well and that were as comfortable... so I have tolerated the wear. |

Not trying to Held bash, but I haven't had a great experience with them, at least with the model gloves I've tried. Had the Hawks come apart at a seam after wearing them 5 times. Saw another pair of Hawks at a dealer with the same problem. Exchanged them under warranty plus extra money for some Kryptons. Wore them for a while, but didn't like how the retention strap didn't "retain" well. Had a seam start to come open after only wearing them 15 times or so. Exchanged them plus too much extra money for some Phantoms. Not a fan of the retention straps on those, either, but they do seem better than the Kryptons. I never wore them. I've still got them with tags attached if anyone is interested. Black size 7.5. I absolutely love my Spidi Penta Gloves. Excellent retention system, and they protected me very well in a crash at Barber's. Kinda pricey, but I got a good deal on ebay. |
