what do you all feel about roadside assistance programs? who do we prefer? my commuting distance will be increasing soon and I'm looking for some peace of mind that comes from knowing that I can call on someone if I need to be picked up on the side of the highway. I saw that thread on the bike that blew a spark plug out of the head and it got me thinking about how much that would suck. I came across something with the AMA and I'm going to call my insurance company today to see what they can offer. I have Progressive and I have Roadside Assistance on the Ulysses, the annual fee is $10.00. In June the fuel pump on the ULY went out in Bryce Canyon, Utah, the bike was towed to Hurricane, Utah to the nearest dealer for a distance of 140 miles @ $4.00 per mile for a total of $560.00...Progressive paid the bill...Well worth the 10 bucks if you are away from home... | ||

Both Geico and Progressive offer bike roadside programs. I have Geico for the car, and Progressive for the bike. Progressive is cheaper and better when it comes to bikes for my observations and dealings with. |
