I just bought some Buell saddle bags for my XB12s and was not impressed with the fitment. They seem to fit nice everywhere but where the rear turn signals are. Is it normal for the turn signals not to fit where the cut-out in the saddle bags is for them? Don't get me wrong, they will work the way that they are, but I just thought they would fit better in the back.

Yep - I have a CityX, but I'm sure it's not too much different. A lot of people have noted that, if you check out the Knowledge Vault, you'll see that many people have had the same issue. I end up using only 2 of the 3 velcro straps, and it seems to work fine. Kinda odd that it's not an exact fit coming from the manufacturer, IMHO.

My problem was the straps that go under the seat. I fabricated some velcro straps and use the back one over the seat. Ither than that no problem. I also am suprised that they are not a beter fit.

Yea, I ended up selling mine on eBay, and bought a pair of Cortech bags.

Mine don't fit well either. The bottom velcro keeps opening up so they kinda flap in the wind. The turn signals look cramped too. But they are cheap and work good enough for me.

The turn signals do not go into the cut-outs in the bag.
I found that to get a good fit attach the front straps to the passenger bracket so that the bags contact the bracket.
Tighten the front top strap under the seat so that the smallest amount of strap is not under the seat.
The bags ride high and tight to the frame.

I can't comment on the XB12S bags, but the XB12Ss (Long) bags I bought were a very poor fit. If you tightened the straps to the passenger peg brackets, the strap across the reflector bracket fell off. The bags drooped and the straps under the seat could not be adjusted short enough to work. I ended up returning them the same day. By the way, kudos to Frederick (MD) HD/Buell. They took them back without argument.

The bags may need the "optional" buckle-on tail bag in order to have adequate support. Mystery to me, but I'm going to look at Dowco, Cortech, etc.
