Anyone here have an ez-pass or something similar for there lighting? Just picked one up for my bike today and they want it mounted on the windshield, well seeing how the lighting windshield isn't all that big i was wondering what you guys have done, i was thinking of popping the windshield off and putting it on the inside just above the headlights but I'm worried about electrical interference thoughts... suggestions? | ||

in TX we call it a toll tag. and i just stuck it in the little slot behind the screen on my '03 XB9S. however the sensor never picks it up, but hey i havent gotten any notices yet, and they can always look up the lic. plate number, but havent yet. so woo-hoo for me :-) i thought about that too, mounting it under the screen, but then if one day i were to get pulled over for running a both, it would be out of sight and it would just make a harder case with the cop. so how it sits now, you can see the top a little bit, enough to make out what it is. | ||

I live in New Jersey and use a regular car EZ-Pass... I keep it in my jacket pocket and it works fine. | ||

I keep it in my jacket pocket and it works fine. yea that was plan but once the woman found out i'll be putting it on a bike she said i need a special transponder, so now my car needs one and my bike has its own. PA is really odd about the ez pass system, i figure it should work fine mounted where i plan and if it doesn't i'll just keep it in my pocket | ||

Get a motorcycle EZ Pass. The New York bridges and tunnels charge motorcycles half price, but if you use a car EZ Pass they'll whack you for the full fare. I have the Buell tank bag and the EZ Pass works fine in the pocket behind the map case. It seems to hold it at just the right angle. This is the FIRST time I've seen someone say it works in their jacket pocket. Not one motorcyclist I've met or spoken to has had luck with the EZ Pass in their pocket (this includes me). No idea why. | ||

Yea I have tried the jacket pocket with no luck. My Jacket came with a map pouch that straps around your arm, so I just put it in that and hold my arm up as I go through, works everytime. I use to put it in the top pocket of my top load back pack, but It was like 2 out of 3 that the sensors would be able to read it | ||

I know you need a separate transponder for the car and the bike (technically for each vehicle), so I don't think anything is messed up about PA in that regard. This is the FIRST time I've seen someone say it works in their jacket pocket. Not one motorcyclist I've met or spoken to has had luck with the EZ Pass in their pocket (this includes me). No idea why. I used to have a hard time with mine, but I discovered it was because I was putting the transponder in my pocket wrong. Your natural instinct is to put the EZ-Pass logo facing the outside of your jacket, but you need orient exactly how it would be if you had it on your wndshield. The EZ-Pass logo needs to facr INWARDS (towards your chest), and make sure it's not upsidedown. Since I did this it's worked everytime. | ||

Nope i can use my car transponder in up to 4 cars as long as a register that car to my transponder, i went to register the bike and thats when i found out i need a 2nd one | ||

I used to just carry it in my pocket and got a ton of bad reads on the Henry Hudson Bridge. The Lincoln and the GW are easy cause they have no barriers so if there is a mis-read they just use the picture to track me by my license plate. I then purchased a tank bag and just keep it up in the map pocket area now. It works much better on the Henry Hudson Bridge. I have also noticed that it works better if I don't slow down too much coming in. It sounds crazy but if I come in at a higher speed it lets me through. If I slow down too much its a guaranteed bad read. I''m in the habit now of letting the car in front of me get clear and then I just fly in and out. | ||

Well, on my 12R I found the right spot, and I tried many spots before I settled on this "perfect" one! My first EZPass I stuck it inside the front windshield (?), but once at around 90mph it flew off like a bullet and struck my helmet at eye level - glad I have a full-face helmet! Then I tried jacket pockets (none worked - almost got hit by the gate a few times), gas cap, etc, but no luck. Then I was inspired, and here is the best spot: between the rear seat and the plastic cowl! Can't be seen, it's protected from the weather, and always reads!!! | ||

In the SF Bay Area, one transponder works for both car and bike, you just list both on the application. I put mine in the map pocket of my Buell tank bag and get fewer false reads than when in the car on the window. | ||

Go to Cycle Gadgets.com, they sell a holder for I-Pass (Illinois) or E-Z Pass. I have one. Works great. Bought it at the IMS show in Chicago a couple years ago. | ||

Frequency, I'm in PA as well (but I've got a Uly). I mounted it to the windscreen and it works fine. This is my second one however since I had the first one come off while on the turnpike about 3 weeks ago. I'm going to rig something up to the cross-bar on the handlebars to make it a bit more secure. Oh, and you do get a discount with the bike pass. Example - $1.25 toll in the car = $0.95 toll on the bike. Just make sure you check your bill - I've had my tag read while another vehicle was on the scales more than once. I was pretty surprised when my $0.95 toll turned into $3.75! | ||

I found the best way to get it to work (for me) was to zip it in the sleeve vent and then slow down, unzip, and wave it out manually. A royal PITA if you ask me... | ||

I go down to chicago a lot. I keep my I-Pass in the small pocket of my backpack. I watched the website to make sure it registered every toll the first few times I did that. Worked fine. The crap goes through modern windshields, Some cloth isn't going to phase it. | ||

I tried mounting mine behind the flyscreen and it wouldn't read...but that wasn't with the transparent cityx plastic...which I've heard will work. | ||

Mounted her inside the windscreen and appears to be reading ok, only sad thing is i had to mount it to my windscreen, good news if the Velcro fails it will just rattle around in there and won't be lost Is the PA MC EZ pass the same size and shape as the regular car unit?  it fits just snug as could be. but most of the time it does not read. but hey is that really so bad? i mean i have it in plain sight, its not my fault there machines are not picking it up. now what does this mean for me.........a free ride :-) and having it visible from the top will give me the edge if i ever do get pulled over by the law. and if they really wanted my money they can look up the lic. plate that is registered with them.  and you can't even see it from the front, only above it and behind it. but then again, this is TX, im not sure how your states are set up. but im happy with it :-) | ||

I just mounted the one on my XB9S on the lower part of the flyscreen, just above the headlight bucket. We'll see how it reads. | ||
