Ok so I now have an 03 xb9s in my collection and I am in need of a Race ECM since it does not have one and is running the Pro-series exhaust. So I picked up an ECM from an 05 xb9 thinking it would work, and judging by the Buell website they have different part numbers for the 03-04 and then the 05 on up. Does anyone know if these ECM's are compatible? If so is there any differences? If not anyone need to trade?

'05 had larger throttle bodies and I think the ECM compensates for that(adds Fuel?). Not sure if it would work or not. Have you tried plugging it in and setting the TPS to see if it works?

No I dont have the ECM yet, it was shipped out today, I should have it wednesday I would guess, man I sure hate to waste the money on a TPS reset if it doesnt work

They are quite different and aren't interchangeable. The changes in the throttle body and injectors make for completely different injector durations for a given amount of needed fuel. Don't mix them up.

you might want to see if someone wants to trade, I have seen similar posts of people with newer models that bought an 03 race ecu and was wondering if it would work

Chrisrogers3 - My roomate just picked up an '07 City X, and bought a brand new full race kit off eBay. He is in the opposite position of you, with the kit including the '03-'04 ECM, and he now needs the newer ECM. Let me know if you are interested in dealing!
