well.... after 3 hours getting the bars installed I find I dont like them. for one it has more pull back than stock
I thought stock had 6 inchs of pull back and the lows have 5 but yet they have more pull back than stock
they NEED to be cut down 1 inch they are to long and the throttle cables barely reach... I'm just f....ing tired right now and with most modifications not happy with the results. maybe I'll feel better in the morning....
man I would not want to be an engineer or designer I'm only modifying my handle bars and its a pain

You don't need to drill holes in your bars. Cut the pin off and be sure your controls are on tight. They clamp on really well, You won't be able to move them.

I put Pro Taper School Boy bars on my Ss. There really straight and flat. I pulled them back as far as I could with out hitting the air box. There ok for now. I'm playing with the idea of some clip ons.

I didn't like the Renthal low or mids for that exact reason. I wanted lower and less pull back.

I used the Pro Taper Charmichael Bend and a set of the Precision engineering clamps.

I could not be happier with the results.

to bad there's no such thing as adjustable handle bars that one can use temperaly to see what works for them than find a bar that maches. I think I'm going to be buying at least 3 different bars trying to find the right ones.
these renthal low's are more comtherable and makes it easyer to cruse around town. the stock S seat needs to be repalce with somthing like a select or corbin though.
these bars with a nice seat would actualy be good for touring.

I bought the Pro Taper "RC" bars and had the stock ones removed from the bike before finding out that I needed different clamps. Back to the shop they went.
A few days after installing the "school boy's" I low sided in some sand and just slightly bent the right side. The right grip is about 1/8" closer to the tank than the left.

Funny, I was also wearing my 2 week old Dainese two piece leathers when I laid the bike down. Years of not wearing much more than a helmet and never crashed untill I bought the suit.
Lucky?

I had the Renthal Ultra-lows on my XB-s. The picture on www.americansportbike.com is my old bike. I loved those bars after having the Crossroads for a while and the hideous chrome stockers. NUTS

They are Rizoma 851's. I got them from a fellow Bad Webber, but you can get them from Trojan-Motorsports:

http://www.britnett-carver.co.uk/trojanhorse/prods /197.html

I would look on ebay or on Bad Web for them if you can find them.

I didn't like the "droopy ear" look of the stock ones, so I swapped the mirrors left and right and turned them upside down.

I've got the same bars as Ft, and I like them a lot. I put mine a bit more forward. My only beef (On a 12 Ss) is the clutch cable. Routing is tight. At first it ran over my forks, but that ended up adjusting my suspension for me, so I had to tie the clutch cable down...
