I recently bought the Diagnostic Scan Tool to perform my own TPS resets on my CityX. I already installed the program on the computer, but I can't find where to plug the orange end of the cord into my bike. It's a 2007 XB9SX. Can anyone tell me where it is located? I tried searching bad web but came up with nothing.

I believe that it is under the seat for the Lightning models. I have a Firebolt and it is under the front fairing for me. All the electronic stuff is under the seat for the Lightnings

Hey bamafan report on how that program works and how hard or easy it was to do the reset .

It was relatively easy really. I used the VDST for the PC from American Sportbike. I found a computer with the right parallel port (I didn't use the Keyspan USB Adapter thing), then installed the program from the supplied disc. It took about 2 minutes to install. Luckily I have a warehouse at my job where I was easily able to park the bike right next to the computer. The cord that connects the two isn't THAT long.

The disc provided has detailed instructions on how to perform a TPS Reset on the Buell, but make sure you have Adobe. The instructions were detailed, but it took a little time to find out what the instructions were actually telling you to do. I just messed around with the program a bit to see what it does. First, I incorrectly reset the TPS, and my bike died after a few seconds of idling. When I followed the instructions though, everything came out right. It was fairly easy.

A few tips:
1. The "throttle stop screw" referred to in the instructions is the same thing as the idle adjustment screw located between the front cylinder and the left side air scoop. Use a 3/16 Allen Ball driver (regular Allen wrench works fine too).

2. Remember to leave the ignition and kill switch on. If either is off, the bike and computer won't communicate.

3. Follow the instructions and don't mess around with the program. I thought I screwed up my bike and wouldn't be able to get it to run properly again.
