Hey BWB!!! I am looking for a quality replacement for the factory Firebolt mirrors. I have been running CRG bar-ends and love how they work, but want to free-up the bars and return to the "on the fairing" theme. Is there anything out there in XB-land that can accomplish this without the "CHEEEZE" that the OEM mirrors so masterfully achieve?

I'd be interested in this as well... I always wondered if any of the Japanese or European bike mirrors would fit - they look so much nicer.

damnit I can't find the link but just yesterday I saw a nice set of real carbon fiber mirrors for the Buell with a Ti pivot. They looked nice and wouldn't have any cheese factor whatsoever since they are real carbon fiber.

I haven't seen them in a while, but every now and then some Buell mirror's pop up on ebay with integrated turn signals. They look really nice, but I don't know where to get them.

I have a set of mirrors that replaced my stock ones. I hated that I replaced a shitload of stuff on my bike and had those crappy stock mirrors. I bought a set of Rizoma Prototype mirrors for my bike but they were REALLY expensive. They look great though. : )

I'll post some pictures in a little bit.

I researched the Rizoma sight - there is lots to choose from and adapters for their sport mirrors that will work on the Firebolt fairing. The holes require a 28mm adapter, which, as I just mentioned, is available. The next step is to find a distributor for Rizoma. I know that Matt at Adrenaline Moto sells some of the line but I'm waiting to hear if he can get items not listed on his site. Stay tuned...

Damnut - yep, the Rizoma Prototype mirrors are what I'd order. Did you get the BS723B or BS722B adapters? Where did you buy them? Thanx.

www.pjsparts.com

This is the only US distributer of Rizoma stuff. If you call and talk to PJ, who is a great and helpful person, ask him to look up what he sold me. I'm at work and don't remember exactly what I bought. I can find out later when I get home.

There's always these for an 1125R look:

I'd recommend PJ's too if you want to go down the Rizoma path.

Just about everything on my bike is black. : ) I had them powdercoated the minute they got to my house, along with everything else. The Heli-bars are great, I've enjoyed them so far.

Comfort. They sit the rider more upright. Less pressure on the wrists.

The Helibar eliminates the strange "tiller" leverage effect of the stock piece, because it essentially moves the 'bars closer to the steering axis instead of far forward of it. You're gonna experience less steering effort as a result, and more accurate steering. I actually think that this benefit is more important than the ergonomic improvement.

Damnut thanks for the info. Your bike does look slick. I could live without the gothic spikes holding the windscreen thou LOL

Other than that the blacked out look is sweet. : )

Thanks Andy!!! I didn't like the original buttonhead screws so just wanted something "different". That's what I came up with......... Spikes.

The blacked out look is almost done. Frame, swingarm and race can are all going out for powdercoat. I bought some 2000 degree ceramic paint that I am going to paint the cylinders with to finalize the look.

I'm going in for ACL replacement surgery in about 3 weeks so my riding will be done for the year. What better time to rip the beast apart again........: )

"Ah honey...... you don't mine if I wheel my bike into the bedroom so I can work on it...... Do you?????"

Hey Kedo...... PJ has a bunch of cool stuff don't he??? Did you place an order with him over the phone or did you order it online?

PJ is a really cool guy. When it came time for me to order mirrors, he sat with me on the phone and measured all of the mirrors that I was interested in so that I would have an idea of what it would look like on the bike. That's great customer service if you ask me.

Damnut- Yes. LOTS of cool stuff. I ordered on-line but then had quick and "light" e-mails. He seems to do business a lot like Al at American Sport Bike. Quick, Clear, Honest and Friendly. Can't beat that. I really like the Rizoma products - spendy but very well engineered and produced.

FYI to all that are thinking of putting the 1125r mirrors on your Bolts.

The blinkers in the mirrors are controlled thru the instrument pod.

You may have to do some work to get them functional.
