Original one failed at ~8k miles, new one (new version) lasted less than 2...
Am I just unlucky or is there a bigger problem?!?

Cheers,

Olivier

Is it possible that my voltage regulator is the problem? I thought the new sensor was supposed to solve the issue...

IMHO speedo is a poorly designed unit. It is a weak spot. It is an automotive sensor from HD.

I have replaced 5 in 3 buells I have owned.

A buddy of mine once said "They need to get off that Trilogy of Tech and fix the oil pump and speedo systems"

Totally agree about the poor design, but as the dealer wants 90Eur for a new one I would really like to find a proper fix...
