Is it one piece or does it come apart?

Its made up of four pieces: back, reflectors, lenses, and front bezel, glued together with silicone RTV. You CAN get it apart with a LOT of patience and a stout, thin-bladed knife. But, I'd advise against it. If you do decide to do it, resist the temptation to clean the "haze" off of the chrome reflectors, and treat them with "kid gloves". That "haze" will wipe right off, along with the reflective coating on the plastic, ruining what beam pattern you have!!

Curious though - what makes you want to disassemble it?

HID low beam is a TREMENDOUS upgrade. the light housing, reflector and low beam pattern are all pretty good, a genuine HID ( with ballast) is the way to go if you ride much at night.
