Can someone give me some help in finding a bracket to fit my 2006 ulysses. I want to mount 2 Piaa lights on it. I saw a red ulysses with the lights I want, does anyone have some info? | ||

Search the Big, Bad, and Dirty section and there is quite a bit of stuff. A guy on there was making mounting brackets but is not longer. I've got some PIAA 510's I plan on mounting on aluminum angle. | ||

The Ulytility bar is what you are referring too, but the guy that makes them closed up shop a few months ago. | ||

Watts, amps etc... anybody know if you need to change to LEDs for that conversion? I was told that there wasnt enough juice to run PIAAs and the stock lights | ||

The XB has about 38 AMPS of charging ability. I run most of the time with heated vest, grip heaters, PIAA auxilliaries, and both high and low beams on. | ||

city.....what exactly are you changing to LED???? The Piaa 510 are 55 watts each so real rough that is about 9 amps for the pair. If you wire your stock config for both lights on that would be 9 amps more. so in lighting alone you are asking for 18 amps. I have no clue about the current/rpm curve of the charging system. I am guessing you are pretty close to max with everything on. I would install a volt meter to keep an eye on system voltage. | ||

I'm currently running a pair of 55w driving lamps added to my Uly. No issues with charging, starting etc after about 2000 miles. I mounted them on a home-made "Ulytility" backet. | ||

A total of (4) 55watt lamps is nowhere close to the limit of the XB charging system. When I say I run most of the time with my auxilliaries on and grip heat and electric vest I am referring to 1300 mile weekends, and a couple 22 hour thousand mile marathons traversing the far reaches of Alaskan gravel roads. The stock Buell XB charging system makes 38 amps, most of which is available above 1500 rpm. | ||

As far as mounting, I simply hose clamped the PIAA's to the forks. a couple years ago. still doing fine. |
