Remus Powerizer Fuel Injection Controller.

Anyone running this with a race ECM?
Is it worth it? Any problems?

I think trojan was working with them, so Matt could probably help you out with whatever you need to know.

The Powerizer works with both the stock or race kit ECM.
All the feedback and every report we have had has been very positive for every model, and it really is a 'plug & play' unit.
Remus have now decided to re-design the units to include a USB port for downloading specific maps in a similar fashion to the Power Commander. For most street bikes this probably won't be necessary as the unit adjusts itself for optimum fuelling. However if you have a heavily tuned or modified bike the downloadable mpas would be a good idea.

The redesign has led to a delay in shipping orders unfortunately, and we are hoping to hear something positive from Remus this week about deliveries.

How do they deal with the AFV skew?

I'd like to know more about this....
Can you give me some more details Matt? How do they install? (Lots of splicing?)
What sensor data does it use to modify the fuel curve? (Piggyback onto the ECM?)
Also, do you have any first hand dyno experience with a before and after you might be able to post?
I know I'm a needy sumb*tch.

Hey Guys,
Please keep this post going with INFO, as for the past year or more as many of you probably know, I have been asking Questions on going big bore to 1450/1500 , Head work , cams and the list goes on, However as of to date no one has told me 100 Percent this will work for the street, I`m not talking about Drag racing, or track racing where one wd. expect to tear down the motor every week or so...

I want this to be somewhat reliable Don`t care if at the end of the year I may have to tear it down to freshen things up....
So If this unit will NOW or soon be able to collect Data that we can then tune into the ECM to do this...Please let me know, as I`m sure there are many that would be interested in the same...
Remember this is for the 12 going to 1450/1500 not the xb9 going out to a 1250 or so..
Thanks

I would like to see the installation instructions for this device.

I have a TFI unit, it stands between the injectors (front and rear are differentiated) and the o2 sensor.
It is supposed to convince the Buell ECM into thinking the fueling is correct for the conditions. Even though the TFI is making it rich(er).

I too am interested in this Matt.

I am having an AWFULL time with the dyno guy tunning my bike, Twice he has done it and twice the bike ran horrible.(he tells me it runs great) I am just about at the end of my wits with this guy. He supposedly knows the DL system well and was recomended by Al, I think the Buells are a different beast than the jap bikes he is used to tunning. He even suggested today to run the bike w/ the 02 disconnected...That is not the answer to me..

Stressfull to say the least waiting 3 weeks(both times) for a bike to run like a$$ when I ride it. won't even idle right.

I may just drop the direct link all together and try this system out...Please tell me more details...PLEASE...

The Remus Powerizer installs in exactly the same way as the TFi unit, i.e. between the ecu and the injectors. It comes complete with wiring loom and OE style connectors so is a straight plug in unit. Early units had an on/off switch although I think it was a little unnecesary. The next generation are still on order so I cannot say if they will retain this feature or not. I do know that the new ones will feature a USB port for custom mapping, although I have no specific details of this yet. Unlike the TFi unit, the Remus can lean the mixture off as wellas make it richer.

This unit is great for mildy tuned street engines with exhaust/air filter mods, although I think for big bore/highly tuned motors you may want to consider a unit that has full adjustment of both fuel and ignition curves.

We used the Rapidbike fuel injection controller on our race bikes, and combined with the Rapidbike Pro software it gives absolute control over fuel and ignition throughout the rev range. This unit also plugs into the stock or race kit ecu and is programmeable using a laptop or direct from certain dynos. US distributors are http://www.rapidbikeusa.com/index.html and Technoresearch, although the prices on the technoresearch website appear out of date and still show the initial heavily discounted introductory prices. The factory web site is at http://www.rapidbike.com/. If you need any other info on these units please let us know.

The Remus Powerizer connects in between the injectors and ECU, I get that.

But, what becomes of the 02 sensor? Or, any of the other sensor inputs?

The O2 sensor plugs into the Powerizer. All the other sensors are handled by the stock ecu in exactly the same way as the TFi.

"The O2 sensor plugs into the Powerizer"

Interesting. The Powerizer I have doesn´t have any O2 plug in.
It only plugs in between the injectors and has a T-connector for the TPS.

When are you expecting to receive the new units? Will you be testing the units before sales release? I'm also interested, but would like something that works...Thanks

We have been told that all our orders will be here in around 10 days time, and that they will all be the new and updated 'USB' version.

As soon as I know anything else I will of course post it here first : )

Just for information sake I want to let you guys know if you go with the TFI, the guys a Techlusion are A TON OF HELP. Great guys that know what their doing. Have had their help several times and never a complaint or fuss of any sort from them. I even had trouble with this stroked RoadKing, The settings they gave me wouldn't work properly for the bikes setup. It was close to the end of the day so one of the Techs gave me their cell# so I can get in touch with them for further help.

I agree, Techlusion have always been more than helpful to us too, and we sell their products alongside the Remus and Rapidbike kits.

The only downside of the TFi is that you cannot lean the fuel off or adjust the ignition curve, but for most street applications you probably won't need to.
The advantage of the Remus & Rapidbike is the extra scope of lean/rich adjustment over the TFi.

Some people are happy to do the manual adjustments on the TFi and some are not, but the choice is there.

Sorry if i missed this in the discussion but i could not find a ref to the price.

The Powerizer costs GBP178 or approximately US$355.

Sgthigg,
I think with the remus,it just makes it all work better together ,Not that it is a huge Hp. improvement in itself.. But should make the ecm and other mods you have or are going to do work as a Better combination all together.. atleast thats may understanding...

Looks like the Remus is similar in operation to the TVII in that they both somehow use the narrow band O2 sensor feedback to make large A/F ratio adjustments?

Anyone know anything more on this? How accurate are the adjustments?

I always thought a technology like this seemed like a no-brainer, but you have to be a little hesitant when you're offered a $350 plug-and-play solution to what typically can be a $1000 dyno-tune session problem.

Would it be inappropriate to discuss pros and cons of this device? And compare it to a Dyno-Tuned ECM?

It's a little more cash, but American Sport Bike's pre-tuned ECMs are in just about the same price range. What's the better choice? For the street? For the track? Does it even matter?
