Anyone experience hate from "super bike" riders? I was coming home on the freeway on my Cityx, and a group of guys were practicing stunts on a road that parallels the freeway. As I passed, the group of them flipped me off........I was like wtf mate??? wheres the love?

maybe they wanted to see a wheelie ? or maybe somebody they know has the same bike as yours & they don't like that guy ? but i have not had any problem with any of the "stunters" they actually seem genuinely interested in the XB !

I don't understand people continuing to own bikes they obviously and publicly hate.

Life's short. If you dislike your bike, sell it.

I also don't understand people dumping on other people because of what they ride.

i've had nothin but good experiences.

pullin' up to the local bike night or even the gas pump i always find IL4 riders asking me all kinds of questions about my rumbling, short wheelbase buell.

of course, there is the occasional horn honking and bird finger from the cagers when i split lanes in 5mph traffic.

jealousy is an ugly thing. : )

Point proven...

You're jealous of the people who have been banned from the badweb so you keep trying : ).

I generally get asked questions from people who are interested. I don't think I've ever run across anyone who hated me just because of what I was riding...

ok so i don't participate on the forum a ton, and because of this i really feel somewhat out of place complaining about anyone that participates here.

And this comment isnt directed at him, cause i really don't care what he has to say about it.

The Pup is amazingly annoying, not because he is like rocket or 07xb12scg who i dont mind actually, they have opinions that are controversial for a "buell forum" but they arent or dont seem to only post to be obnoxious. Where as nothing worth reading has come out of "the Pups" posts since he got his panties in a twist. (maybe not before either, i wasnt paying attention then)

I come here exclusively because i enjoy the company of like minded people, people who happen to like at least one thing that i really do, my bike. But its true that one person can do an awful lot to screw that up. Which i'm sure he can notch as a little victory. All because someone told him he was being stupid, because he was.

Anyway as much as i dont like the idea of banning someone. When they are no longer here for a reason other than to annoy the rest of us who are trying to play nice. I for one would appreciate it.

Jackelfox,

They are kind of like the death of a star. They burn brighter and hotter than the ever have before. They consume a lot of energy. They explode. Then they shrivel into a tiny, cold, remnant of the star they used to be and are forgotten.

Search for SkyGuy. Many seem to follow the same path.

i for one, once i decided a bunch of people in one place didnt like me, would find somewhere/how else to spend my time, i , at least feel, like there are enough people out there that do that my time is better spent with them, than trying to further irritate those that don't.

hey guys, come on....... I was merely asking a question. I love my bike, wanted one since I was 18 [24 now]. This choice was a long time coming, and I couldn't care less about what other people think. I didn't want to start any kind of argument.

I got some crooked looks at Cycle Gear in Raleigh by a bunch of guys on bling'd out ricers with Chicken strips that were more like Chicken Breasts... That's OK, if these are the type of people that would act that way, I couldn't care less what they think or do... not worth a second thought. I actually got flipped off by a Harley rider when I waved to him... figures!

Next time one of the finger flippers gives you "the sign". Stop them and challenge them to some twisties in the area. I know there are some really good rice burner riders out there, but most just vanish from my mirrors after two turns.

In general, rice rockets riders are a different mindset. Many are cool, but when I talk with them I can only do so for a little at a time. Different value system. How fast will this go is they prime objective. The difference is religion. Just like MAC vs. PC vs. Linux. Or Java vs. .Net vs. Perl. The most extreme members are on some type of Jihad (sp?). You can only pitty those extreme members. They are playing the hate game.

I get more respect from rice rockets and less from cruiser dude posers not knowing what the XB is. They always want to race and always loose. I think they get the XB mixed up with the blast, how else could they think they even have a chance?

What a bunch of cry babies, did I say anything bad about a XB?No one is jealous because someone has a XB and they have a repliracer, sounds to me maybe some of you feel ashamed of having a XB and have to lash out to make yourself feel good about your choice.

I have not experiencedany XB hate. Buells are actually fairly well respected in my neck of the woods. I get more attention and positive comments about my Firebolt then any other bike that i have owned.

I get a lot of positive comments on my S1 and a lot of strange stares on my XB9RS. I guess the sound of a HD w/ the body of a sport bike confuses them.

Is that a serious question? Scroll up and read what you wrote, then consider the implications of your post.

Someone said that super-bike-riding XB haters were jealous. You asked if that person was joking. The implication of that question is that super bikes are so superior to XBs that anyone stating that a super bike rider is jealous would have to be joking. You later go a step further and resort to name-calling of those you've insulted, and then state that anyone who responds to being insulted is lashing out to make themselves feel better because they are so ashamed of their XBs.

The finger is more of a salute among bikers, these days.

You should have saluted back. It's the right thing to do.

Blah Blah Blah...

Ever occur to anyone that the 'superbike' riders would have flipped off ANYONE not in their crew...Buell, HD, Sushi scooter or otherwise? Idiot's and A-holes(they know who they are) abound in this world, get used to it.

Traction,
Enjoy your bike. If someone has some *problem* with it or you because of it, then to hell with'em.

Oh, and you should have pulled a second gear wheelie all the way down the street after the salute.

That would also have been the right thing to do.

I'd like to give one positive comment for thepups defence. He is helpful or tries to be helpful. If you read on some other posts he can be a helpful guy. But generally well uh no comment.

Back on subject, Get used to the finger your going to get from someone sooner or later. Not everyone respects other riders. Try giving the wave to an old school harley rider still riding his panhead since grade school(now in hes 50/60 years old)
There is no bike better than another out there. Just because you can out preform someone else in the twisties or takem on the straights doesnt make your bike the better bike.
THE ONLY BETTER BIKE OUT THERE IS THE ONE YOU OWN.
My Dynaglide is better than all your bikes.
What do you think of the?...lol
Atleast until I have an XB in my garage

I cant speak for anyone but myself, but i flip people off all the time... Not in a hurtful manor or anything, lol... Usually its to friends and people i know.. Always with a big smile on my face... My point is everyone takes gestures differently... When people give me a thumbs up when i`m on my bike i almost think of it as a sarcastic "F you buddy".. I think they just want me to put the baffles back in my pipes,lol...

My 2 cents

Not to mention that Pup is on his third engine and has had electrical issues on top of it. How polyana can the guy be expected to act?

You are blaming him? Of course, it can't possibly be the Buell's fault. Drivegear bearing failure twice. I've had mine fail once- total teardown.
