My CityX has been in the shop for 21 days. I am jonesing for a new ride. I am looking at the new XB12TT (which is the bike I WOULD have bought if they had it) and then there is that lil bird rumor mill for the new Dual Sport. I know that as soon as I pull the trigger on the XB12STT the new Dually will come out. Just my luck. So those of you out there riding the TT, any off road riding use with them? Any Fire road rides with them? I am NOT giving up dirt. Might have to change my name to CityXXslicker |

Hey, don't you work at the dealership? Maybe a TT could go for an extended "test ride" over the weekend! |

LOL! It's always like that! Just when we got the wife a new Dyna Low-Rider, the new models came with 6-speeds and 95 inchers! Now I hear if I trade it in on the new one, the '08 will have a 110 incher! But you know how it is, if you wait, you wait FOREVER! |

How does the TT handling compare to a normal 9sx? Does that extra suspension travel give the front end more "flop" like the Uly? Or does it have that "handlebars are welded to the road" feeling the 9sx has? |

If I trade in, you will because I will be stripping ALL of my parts off of the Cityx. The TT is a bit more mannered down the road for highway riding. they WONT let me TAke it off road, so I dont know about the bendy and dirty on it... and the new KTM450 is swwwueet, so I am hoping Buell comes out with a class leader there |

That would make it 40 days of no riding, then have to wait til the "new"bikes show up... Why could this have not happened in winter! |

LOL! Glitch, my college teacher was "Mike Murphy", no joke! Brian - It never happens in winter, kind of like bald tires only happen in summer, when you should be using them. Of course they won't let you off road on it! They've seen your X! If you are asking me, I say go with the TT for now. You may find it to be right up your alley. Then see what happens when (if) the dirt bike comes out. Seems to me like you need something for both dirt & street. Will the dirt bike fit that? I think the TT will. |

Brian, why wait for the new dually, it most likely will be as tall as a Uly. You have complained in the past the Uly is too tall. So I still can't believe after all the work you've done to your cityx, you want to dump it. How badly did you break it? |

I'd like to see an XB9TT. Glitch, I would have purchased that instead of the XB12STT I did buy. I still prefer the 9 motor over the 12. Brian, what happened to your CityX that it's been in the shop that long? BTW, not meaning to thread hi-jack. I am starting stage II of my mods tonight. The tail is gettin' ripped off, and the Uly tail is goin' on |

I've taken by 12s on a few dirt roads. I have the scorpion sync tires on it, and it handles the dirt great. My biggest problem is gravel. Whenever I hit deep gravel or something of the like, I sink in and pretty much have no more control of where the bike goes. Kinda' like snow skiing in spring time slush. All these excursions have been on short roads. 1/2 mile or less. Next weekend, I'm going camping and the camping spot is about 2 miles down a twisty dirt road. I'll report back how the ol' lightning handles that. Which brings up a question. Anyone ever dumped an xb in dirt? Did you have much damage? I assume the majority of the bike would be completely fine, except a few scrapes, with a little slide in the dirt. I do have CRG bar ends, so I suppose those would be destroyed. |

The TT is too tall, I would have to get a custom seat and lower the front springs, and the rear shock to SS height. Then remove every part from my CityX and put it on the TT. As far as my bike, they have checked TPS, ECM, BAS, 30w fuses, Crank position sensor, and starter... nuthin. It starts blasts to 2500rpm, holds for 5 seconds then DIES. I have a thread up in KV. Short man on a tirade. |

i would deffinitly wait, since it is only a few days. I have to say that so far my Uly with TT suspenders has performed flawlessly, I love it. As for the KTM450, I own a KTM 525, and it is fantastic in the dirt, but forget the street, it is legal, but not really made for it. If you like the XB9 engine soo much you might want to try the XB9 primary kit on the XB12. I have it and really like it, I ride the bike where I want it and it is much better for low speeds and especially for the dirt. Top end changes but not by much, you will be around 5000 at 100mph. |

My other ride is too nice to be taking off on the dirt roads. I am glad I have other choices in the garage, but I want my dirty Bueller back
