Went to Gastonia (NC) HD-Buell. Spent an hour and a half trying to get a salesman to sell me a new ULY (or at least to let me demo a bike and get a messenger bag) Even told one salesman that was flirting with the front desk girl that "he wasn't going to sell many bikes standing up there."
If anyone is interested in selling me a bike, please let me know. I'm looking to buy a gold ULY and at least the side bags. BTW, I expect some kind of good deal.

I think you can get a great deal if you are willing to travel-travel is what a Uly is built for! I am just not sure where.I remember when Dave was at Appleton that they would provide a good deal and perhaps even pick-u-up at the local ariport. I also remember reading something about a good deal in Fl. Seems like some fellow purchased a new bike and rode out to Colo. on it as a break-in. I think you might just have an adventure in store for yourself.Just sold a BMW on ebay and the folks are from Fl. He rode his big GS up and she flew up on Sat. They are spending the next two weeks traveling down the mt.s back to Fl. I got a GoldWing in St. Lousie and rode back to Eastern Md. it was a great trip that I took my time coming home. Perhaps that Hardley dealer did you a favor.

You might consider asking a dealer if he'd consider cutting you some slack on a deal - enough to make it worth your while to fly out.

If you have financing ready, are ready to buy, I'd bet you could swing a good enough deal to justify the one-way plane fare!

Daves used to have a Fly-and-Buy deal. I'd bet the other dealers might as well.

Pity, I only have the Black and naked. I have done the fly and ride for a couple of Buellers. As long as you promise to send me some pics of your ride home, I will pick you up at the air port (two hour commute for me) MSRP on the bike, it is the last one I have in stock. But then again the local guys are doing a pretty good job of picking the up too. 8 ulys & 2 TTs on the road for 2007 : D ONly one of each left

Bob,

Carolina has some good folks, but it sounds like you went on a bad day.

Call them and ask for Gregg, he's the finance guy, and he'll hook you up.

Bob,
It's been hard finding good Buell folk at Carolina HD. They are all around good folk, but don't know much about Buell.

There is a real good Buell dedicated salesman up at Tilley in Statesville. His name is Paul. He spent about 2 hours with me and my bro a couple months back and knew the product line really well. Not sure what days he works, or his last name. If I dig up his card I'll pass on more of his info to you.

Thanks everyone!
I think I'll stop in at Tilley's and look up Paul when I get back from vacation on July 10th. (Should know about the '08 models by then!)
I'll be out in Colorado for two weeks. It WOULD be ok with me to loose my return airfare if I "needed" to bring a bike home... hmmm

Tilley's is good, and I have had great experiences with Micah at Crossroad's Buell in Wilkesboro, NC...they have at least three employees that ride XB's themselves.
